Because this is not how the lottery selection and interview process works. And the onus is on the applicant to ensure that all the guidelines are met on the entry form. Sadly the consular officers are indeed very strict in Ghana and Nigeria, due to the very high incidence of fraudulent visa applications they encounter there. This does sadly mean that sometimes innocent people are disadvantaged too.

i feel for the applicant,

Here in Nigeria, when you win the DV lottery, Family and friends celebrate with you, you even go to church and give testimonies about how God surprised you, though many will not disclose the details of what God did, to the congregation.

then all those girlfriends/wive who dumped your ### starts retracing their steps from where they got it all wrong in the relationship and how they can make amends.

imagine going back home regretting that you did not get it because you were lazy to retrieve your very own school certificate.

that is a hard lesson, but denial based on unclear picture is painful, i wish i didn't read that one.

It is painful but it is the same principle as denying people because there is a spelling error in their name or wrong date of birth etc.... These are all potential fraud indicators as well as ways of trying to get around the single entry only rule by making the entries seem different. The consular officer has to be absolutely certain both that the person in front of them is the same as the person that entered, and that there was only one entry.

It's God's Will too if one didn't get the visa successfully :)

I guess that's one way of dealing with messing up an application.

hmmm!

it is even very possible the picture was made blurry deliberately in an attempt to get around the single entry rule

why use a bad picture in the first place.

i guess we really can not judge a one sided story
