Hello. I saw that my husband posted this in a Delhi interview thread in the India forum. I felt it would fit better here. Thanks in advance for any tips.

Hi All,

Thanks for your support.

Could you please help me with these questions.

1) I got a CR-1 visa with a expiration date...is there any date we have lookout for or just visa expiration date is the final date by which I have to enter USA?

2) what kind of questions should I expect at entry port? ...pls share experience

3) apart from sealed packet do I need to carry any other document?... Read somewhere that xray doc required but we didn't get any from max hospital Delhi except CD.

4) since I am emigrating then return ticket is not required, right?

5) any forms that I need to fill at Delhi and entry port airport?

6) to be eligible for work does it makes sense to ask for ead stamp at entry port rather wait for GC to arrive?

7) if ead is not possible then am I eligible to work based on the cr-1 visa given on passport but it has expiration date

As always thanks a lot for helping and sharing information.

Thanks

Hi All,

Thanks for your support.

Could you please help me with these questions.

1) I got a CR-1 visa with a expiration date...is there any date we have lookout for or just visa expiration date is the final date by which I have to enter USA? you must enter before expiration date, no other dates

2) what kind of questions should I expect at entry port? ...pls share experience everyone has different experience, generally they just ask a few questions about you and your spouse

3) apart from sealed packet do I need to carry any other document?... Read somewhere that xray doc required but we didn't get any from max hospital Delhi except CD. No

4) since I am emigrating then return ticket is not required, right? correct

5) any forms that I need to fill at Delhi and entry port airport? customs form when entering US

6) to be eligible for work does it makes sense to ask for ead stamp at entry port rather wait for GC to arrive? there is no EAD stamp for immigrant visa

7) if ead is not possible then am I eligible to work based on the cr-1 visa given on passport but it has expiration date. You can work as soon as your SS number arrives

As always thanks a lot for helping and sharing information.

Thanks

Also, does having your spouse traveling with you make any difference at entry port?
