Ok experts,

My Fiancee had her interview yesterday and was approved within 5 minutes of final interview. I attended the interview with her and consular only asked her a few questions, hers and my name, birth date, where we met, my favorite place in Philippines, how many times I visited, how far along she was in her pregnancy. He then told me he appreciated that I attended her interview with her and he could see our relationship was genuine.

He then said we were approved and to go to Releasing were they told us she would receive her visa in 4-5 days. We were never asked at pre-screen or final interview for the I-134 Affidavit of support even though she had it out sitting right in front of her. They never asked to see any pictures or show any proof of relationship. However, the only thing I could think of why they didn't because we had three binder's and one photo album sitting on counter were they could see.

Now I'm concerned about possible K-1 Visa issuing delay because they will ask for the I-134 Affidavit of support before issuing.

Hello experts,

Attended my Fiancees interview, it lasted about 5 minutes before she was told she was approved. They never asked for any documents to show proof of relationship, no photos, boarding passes, or anything including the I-134 Affidavit of support.

Now I'm concerned Visa might be delayed if they later request for her to submit the I-134 Affidavit of support at a later date. She did have it out on counter in there plain sight but they never asked for it at pre-screen or final interview. At releasing they told her she would receive Visa in 4-5 days using the 2go service at Mall of Asia.

  • My question is this common that they don't ask for I-134 Affidavit of support?
  • Is this going to delay issue of K-1 Visa?

Don't worry about it. Many have not been asked for the I-134 either and were just fine.

Congratulations on your approval!

Unenforceable anyway.

I-134 was not asked from me either during the interview.

This is common now that they are not asking Affidavit of Support.

As for the pics, well you are there in front of them.. they don't need to see photos of how you look ;)

Congrats, you're approved. The CO told you why they approved you so quickly (and without the need for the other documents) that was because you attended and how you two answered the questions and probably interacted with each other.

Jump over to the Philippine forum for questions relating to the process there... ;)http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/ (the normal hang out ;) )

NO worries! Many times over the past couple years the CO has not been asking for the I-134 and supporting documents. They will not be asking for them later either. Relax!! Congrats!! :dancing:

The I-134 is still listed in the embassy instructions letter, and they do ask from time to time so it is better to be prepared ... you are one of the many that were not asked ;)

Good job for going with her to the interview. That is probably the main reason why your fiance was approved so fast and without hesitation. I went to my wife's interview at the embassy and it went great. So good for you.

They do not need an affidavit of support now. So just tell her to wait for her visa then go to CFO and wala she will be in your arms in no time at all.

We almost have the same interview scenario when we had it a year ago (my fiance flew in for it too) and they didn't ask for affidavit of support. Just asked his job, how we met, etc. Your fiancee should have her visa soon :) Congratulations!
