Hello everyone and thanks for taking the time to read and try to guide me through this process.

I was admitted to the US on a tourist visa and my and I still have a few months left from my 6 months approved stay, before that date my fiancée (he is a US citizen) and I are planning to get married HERE and apply for my adjustment of status. Currently living in texas,

Here are a few questions:

1. Can we file forms I-130 and I -485 concurrently?

2. We live together but WE decided not to include me on the lease since I just got here, would it be better to put me in the lease now or after we get married?

3. I know that my status adjustment wont be completed before my 6 months expire, but at least we will file before that, how long do you think it will take for me to get my travel and work permits?

4. We consulted an immigration lawyer and she said that even if its not the right path, things will work out specially since I am not working or studying with my tourist visa, what documents or evidence do you think we should attach to the forms? or should we stick to what the forms are asking for?

5. The lawyer said that it is NOT necessary to attached wedding pictures or medical exams to the application, but that they will be needed for the interview, is that correct?

Thanks very much

I would read the guide at the top of this forum, basically the same as say adjusting from a K1, you will need a medical etc.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

1. yes

2. I don't see a difference

3. You will usually get EAD and Advance Parole within 90 days of applying

4. Just the documents that are being asked for

5. The medical should be sent with the I-485. You should attach copies of some of the evidence of bona fide marriage with the I-130; you can bring more to the interview.
