Yes it's that way in most states

We had a foster child have a bio dad try so hard to get her. They wouldn't even allow him to take custody of her cause she was married. Was very frustrating cause he was a good option. I never even knew anything about a law like that prior.

1/18/2016 paid aos fee

1/28/2016 review 261 to get iv fee unlocked ( unlocked once I did review, was taking to long)

He was the consulat people from zagreb croatia. They gave us so much hard time. Im not even joking

For the person that says it doesnt speed up the process. For sure it doesnt but it defenetly helps. The officer was extremely happy to see those ultrasound photos.

Consular after his interview asked me if someone from his family paid me to bring him here. He begged for me not to bring him. He had thought that this was arranged. But i told the truth and now my husband is here

It doesn't speed up the process. It doesn't even help. The female officer was congratulating you, and that is all. A baby is good news, but it does not hurry up immigration.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Why is everyone telling OP being pregnant doesn't speed up immigration? She has said multiple times that it was the IO's words not hers, and saying it helped her and her husaband's case personally because it is actually a viable 'proof' of a bonafide relationship to be pregnant/have a child together, which was a positive for their application since their case is red flagged.

We are saying that, because it doesn't. And to be clear, if you read the OP, an IO didn't say that at all, an IO didn't come to the house. It was the two cops that came to the house. Not 'an agent', two cops working on behalf of the UCCIS. They don't make desicions, all they were there to do is investigate the living circumstances.

Further being pregnant does not a relationship prove. It shows she had sex, and is pregnant, and nothing more. It isn't unheard of for USCIS to require paternity testing.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

How about my case. I'm a very light sleeper. I sleep alone. Its not that I don't want to sleep with my partner but every move, breath etc keeps me awake and I don't think its very healthy to take sleeping pills nightly. My parents have their own bedrooms as my mom is the same as me and my dad has a noisy sleep apnea machine!

Any questions on that I assume could be backed by doctors notes

an ultrasound only proves you are pregnant, it doesn't prove who the father is. Pregnancy won't do a thing to speed up anything.

Not nice not nice at all

Wow, I am also from the Portland, Oregon area-- but live in a more rural area outside the city. It just seems so weird for them to show up on your doorstep. Is this something very common? I leave for work every day at 6am, and have patients scheduled and waiting, so it's not like I can hang out and visit with the immigration folks. Guess I shouldn't worry, my fiancé is still in Guatemala.

I am pregnant so they got excited about that and told me that that is a great news and that can speed up the process,

Working on behalf of USCIS is close enough to an IO for the intention of my post (although arguing semantics doesn't deflect from my main comment), though I suppose I should have used the correct title for the persons. The point is that anything they find would be assumed to bd reported back to USCIS and added to her case file. They thought her being pregnant and her living situations were a good sign. That is not for you or I to debate, it was something that was said by the officer for USCIS, and when it comes down to it, it will be for an official IO to decide if it holds merit - not us.

Regardless, I said it was "proof" - something that "looks good" on their paperwork and therefore is a positive for them. Of course it's not going to speed up their case (again something OP herself didn't claim and therefore doesn't need multiple people telling her that), but I don't see how you can argue that it wasn't something positive in a case with so many red flag no matter if it isn't "real" proof. Everything good counts when it comes to immigration.

I think the investigating officer said that to the OP at the conclusion of the visit to soften the invasive nature of the visit. Maybe she was just trying to reassure the OP and say something positive and soothing, even if it probably isn't true.
