Hello all,

I'm a US Citizen married to a Honduran.

He has never been to the US as I was living abroad in Honduras for years and we lived happy and comfortable there.

Our 7 month old son was born there but is a US citizen ( Report of birth Abroad)

Unfortunately he was diagnosed with a Heart defect and must be operated , I decided to travel back to the US

because I found a surgeon I am comfortable having my son operated by in Miami.

My son and I are now here and he is scheduled for Open Heart Surgery on April 6th.

My husband has applied for a B2 visa to be able to be here for our baby's surgery,

I have sent my 2014 & 2015 tax returns, original letter from Surgeon and my letter of invitation.

Any advice ?

You don't do or send anything. Your tax returns, letter of invitation and letter from surgeon mean nothing.

He needs to apply by himself, showing ties to Honduras and reasons why he HAS to return back to Honduras. The USA quite simply doesn't care why he wants or feels he needs to visit, just that he will return to his home country, as by applying for a B2 visa he is assumed to be intending to immigrate to the USA by default.

Unfortunately his chances are slim, considering his wife and child are both in the USA, but he could get lucky.

All he can do is try.

Let us know the result.

They are not interested in how much money you make or where you work. There is no invitation or sponsorship required for tourist visas. He must convince them why he will return home, not how well cared for he will be in the USA. In fact, if you are using tax returns to show you can comfortably afford to feed and accommodate him, you are doing yourself a disservice. Why would he want to leave that arrangement? He needs to prove that he absolutely has to return home to go to work and attend to his other commitments there.
