No Interview Letter Yet - Starting to Worry

Here's an update for anyone who may come across this thread looking for answers:

I spoke with someone at the NVC and they were great and looked up my case for me even though they don't actually schedule the interviews for the fiance visas. She said there was no interview date yet and seemed surprised. ugh.

I called the embassy and by some miracle was able to get a human on the phone finally. She said they no longer take ANY visa inquiries over the phone and you have to use the online form that Laurajc referenced above. I've done that and will just have to be patient. We have time. Our wedding isn't until July 31 but it's just unsettling when everyone else seems to be getting interviews faster than us.

London has no way to talk to any live person in the Immigrant Visa Unit that processes K1s and hasn't for at least a year or two. The contact form is the method to get in touch. Sometimes they will reply with a date. It may not be right away that they reply. Could be a couple of days or never or same day.

Also the NVC has access to see anything London has put in the computer about your case, such as an interview date, even though NVC does not schedule K1s. They are all on the Dept of State network. A nice person will look it up. Some will brush you off. Beg, plead, say you are afraid it was lost in the mail, and tell them London will not take phone calls.

Yes, I agree it's been too long not to hear from them.

My status updated date just changed in CEAC. Does that just mean they received my email inquiry?

Probably or maybe they just assigned a date.

Another question to add to the one above:

Long story short - we submmitted our I129f pretty early because based on predictions here, we expected to go through TX and have it take a long time. We were sent to CA and it flew through. We dragged our feet a bit after the NOA2 because we can't get married until July. Our priority date came and went which I've heard is no biggie as long as I send a new letter of intent (which I did). When it expired, my fiance received a letter stating something along the lines of, they haven't received such and such from him and asked if he could please let them know if he intends to move forward with the K-1 process. That happened to be the day after he submitted his Readiness Form and then had his medical a week later. They said to let them know but gave no information in the letter indicating HOW to let them know. No number no address, no nothing. We figured by submitting the required documents, that that was letting them know. Do you think this has anything to do with the hold up? or could it be that our wedding date we submitted is still far away? Again, our status in CEAC says ready and we know they've received the medical results.

If you told them a July wedding then they are in no rush to schedule you. There's a lot who want/need their visa ASAP and London will put them before you.

Hi,

Just to (possibly) put your mind at ease. I had my medical on the 29th of January and filled in my Notification of Readiness on the 30th of January. My medical went through about a week after I had it. I am still yet to receive a letter from the embassy (and it's been over 6 weeks and 5 days or so since I put in the notification.)

I called up the embassy a few weeks ago when I asked about it the woman was really pissy with me and all she would really say was that I need to continue waiting. However the website states they won't reply to correspondence until after that 6 week period.

I sent them an email on Monday using their contact form, but I feel like that's just an easy way for them to ignore correspondence and wouldn't be surprised if I get no reply. So I'm simply waiting for the letter at the moment and hoping they're just slow and it hasn't gotten lost in the post / something else bad.

But just thought I'd mention that I'm having a similar issue to show you that because some people on here had it done within 3 weeks or whatever, that doesn't go for all of us.

Hi mrDan and thank you for chiming in. I feel guilty saying this but it does make me feel better to not be alone. I'm sorry you haven't heard anything yet and especially because you've been waiting longer. I'm also curious about the wedding date you indicated when you submitted everything. Best of luck and I hope you hear something soon! Please come back and update if you do! :)

This is not direct knowledge but it's something I think the embassy takes into consideration when they schedule interview dates. The DS-160 asks when you're wedding is and when you have booked/plan to book your flight to the US. On ours we put that our wedding was 5/28 and my fiance's flight would be on 4/20 so that might be one reason why we might have gotten our interview date sooner than most. They probably want to make sure the wedding date falls within the 90 day time limit once you enter the states. That's all speculation though.

Also my fiance called the embassy directly and it took him forever to get to an actual person but supposedly from what he told me the conversation was 'tense' and they had a bit of an argument. Two days later we got our letter. There's no way to tell exactly how or what effected the speedy delivery but I won't say neither hurt our case.

I believe the wedding date I put on my form was 10th of June. We don't have an official wedding date as we're wanting to sort out the visa first. I'd prefer to be over there in May, but I guess they may see our applications as low priority as there are still a few months til we need to travel and other applications might have wedding dates much closer. I can understand if they are prioritising based on wedding date. Hoping I still make it over in mid-May. Bit of a pain that we've not heard anything because it is causing us a bit of stress - would have been nice to hear from them even if they sent a letter / email saying "Since your wedding is a few months away, we've set your interview to a later date etc".

Update: Had an email waiting for me when I got into work this morning in response to my contact form inquiry that I submitted yesterday. They've scheduled his interview for April 29. What a relief!!!

MrDan, I would submit another email form inquiry if you haven't heard back yet! Did your status updated date change on CEAC when you submitted that Monday? I really hope you hear something soon.

It has taken almost 7 weeks since I sent that Notification / had my medical. It's probably exactly 6 weeks since they received my medical though.
