I came here on an F-1 visa and I have been married to my US Citizen wife for a year. I underwent a name change before I came to the US. We are preparing our AOS packet and realized that I forgot to mention the old name on my F-1 application. I probably misread or overlooked to mention the old name under the question "have you ever used any other names" and answered "no". It was a complete error and was not willful at all.

I wish to mention it on our AOS forms like I-130 and G-325A where it asks for old names, but we would like to have some advice. Will it jeopardize our AOS process if I mention it now since it was not mentioned before? Has anyone gone through this before? I asked this question on a free immigration lawyer website and some attorneys said that I should mention it and some said not to mention it because of inconsistency. Please help!
