On March 12th, my package was delivered at the Texas USCIS. So far I haven't gotten a text or email stating they have opened it. I have included a total 44 photo's. Mainly of me and my Fiancee together. Only four photo's of the conversation, and I believe like 15 Skype screenshots that date all the way back from when we first met.

Contents include:

Check for $ 340.00 USD. ( I-129F Application Fee)

I-129F

I-129F Page 4, Question 34.a, explanation of meeting in person

G-325A and passport style photo (Petitioner)

G-325A and passport style photo (Beneficiary)

Birth certificate and US Passport (Petitioner)

Birth certificate, Government ID, Philippines Passport (Beneficiary)

Parents Approval of Marriage (Beneficiary)

Parents Government ID (Beneficiary)

Letter certifying intent to marry (Petitioner and Beneficiary)

Proof of having met in person in the past two years

Proof of ongoing relationship

Certificate of engagement

So here is the problem, I would like to go back to the Philippines on April 27th for three weeks, but I'm afraid maybe I'll get RFE or approved while I'm in the Philippines. Could I still go to the Philippines even though I have the K-1 visa getting ready to be started on? I plan to bring Mirah ( My fiancee) copies of everything I sent in for her future meeting.

I was thinking of writing a letter saying I'll be in the Philippines during that time. I need to kind of find out soon if I can go back to the Philippines. Because the airline prices will soon go up.

It's been three days. Yes I know really five, but government isn't open in the weekend so can't count those. You wouldn't have heard anything, expect to wait about two weeks (usually less).

You didn't need....

Birth certificate, Government ID, Philippines Passport (Beneficiary)

Parents Approval of Marriage (Beneficiary)

Parents Government ID (Beneficiary)

Certificate of engagement

but at this point it's moot because you already sent it.

Anyway where do you plan on sending that letter? That place is an intake facility and ge thousands of packets a day. They aren't going to suspend or hold your case or wait until you get back. RFE replies tend differ but it's usually about 30 days you have to reply, so fly out at your own risk. I personally would and just have someone check my mail, the RFE could be something she needed to sign and it could be a blessing you're there with her.

Photos are secondary and are not considered too much, definitely not at all at this point. This point in the process is about you and making sure you are good to go with the U.S. Gov on bringing someone. Passport Stamps, boarding passes are the best. You have a good packet so I wouldn't worry about that part.

I can easily have someone check the mail for me, but I think it's not a great idea to risk the petition. I want to spend more time with her, but I guess maybe I'll just wait till the visa is issued. Such a hard decision :P:P:P

As an important correction, you filed the I-129F petition. Applying for the K-1 visa is at a later stage.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I just checked my paper work. On my G325A, I wrote "I-129F", she put "K-1 visa on hers. For the check, I wrote "I-129F petition fees"

However, our intents to marry letters say K-1 Visa.

Just got an update today.

USCIS CSC just received your petitioin ... no problem taking off for a few weeks. Don't expect to hear from USCIS for months. Average processing time for the I-129F is about 5 months.

FYI - you fiancee does't need a copy of the entire I-129F petition packet, waste of paper, time and space to bring it all. I do suggest you give her a copy of YOUR G-325A as that has information she will need to know.

Remember ~ KISS!
