How typical is this to happen at the interview?

Here is my original thread for my case if anything is interested.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/466220-rfe-i751-unique-condition-please-help/

I had my interview today at the local field office. The interview went well and the officer said that he would recommend us to his supervisor and our case would be approved after the supervisor signs off on the case. He also said that we should hear something in the mail within a month. The officer said, " I don't see any reason why you would not get approved."

Bottom line is, we did not get a "yes" answer that I was expecting like how it happened when I applied for my green card the first time around. How typical is it that the "yes no" answer is not given at the end of the interview? Can someone else who has gone through the interview process for removing conditions share their experience, views, opinions?

I waited more than 24 months for this interview with the local field office so waiting one more month is not a big issue but I was expecting an answer today rather than dangle in the middle.

Thank you

Even if you heard a yes or no, it doesn't mean a yes or no. They are not bound by the words they told you and sometimes will say things just to get someone to move along. Usually they will give an answer such as you were given.

It honestly sounds like a yes to me without the word being said. If you feel things went well and weren't split apart or grilled too hard you're good.

That's the answer we got. As stated above, you don't get a 100% answer.

Sounds like it went well. Don't sweat it.

We had a similar response after our interview back in 2014. They said you will be approved within a week, and we were approved within 24 hours and my phone was blowing up with texts, lol. I don't think you have anything to worry about. :)

  • 4 weeks later...

After my interview I created an account with USCIS to get updates on my case and I got a text message yesterday. So my new card is in production and it was sent for production on April 9. So, I am seeing light through the tunnel finally.
