Question about form I864

Hi,

I have a question about part 6 :

1) question 18.a. Have you filed a Federal income tax return for each of the three most recent tax years?

My sponsor hasn't filed for 2015 just yet. He has transcripts of the previous years and a W2 for 2015.

My question is, would I face any issues if I choose to send the form without a transcript for 2015 but only the W2 of the same year?

The current tax year is 2014. It will remain that until April 15th 2016, then the current year is 2015.

So you can send in the form now without 2015 info (its not due yet so its not required) however if at the time of adjudication of your form it is after taxes are due (Apr 16) they can request 2015 info in an RFE or they can not ask and base it on 2014 plus W2. The later it gets from due date the more likely it is they want the new years info.
