Hello everyone

My fiance is going to do the interview on next week. She is from Vietnam, I'm going to attend her interview. Can I do the interview with her? What a documents should I bring when I get there? Do I need to submit DS-160 (She had DS-160) ? How can I get enter the consulate general?

Thank you so much

First you need to know if they even allow the petitioner to attend not all embassies does that?

Yes. They allow him to attend my interview. I saw some people did that on their interview

You can attend but in general you can not participate unless they formally request you and wave you over during. When my wife interviewed she said she was like the only one w/o the Petitioner present. In VN its strongly encouraged you attend (even though you likely wont do anything).

The simplest answer bring anything / everything you think you'd might need.

I saw on Webtretho.com. Some case that CO invite their fiance attend their interview. He helped her for her interview so I'm wonder about my case.

What should he need to get enter the US consulate general? (his passport or something else,...)

Like I said I wasnt there, didnt attend. My wifes recaps are always a bit suspect on depth...but from spending way too much time researching and here on VJ in particularly my take is....these COs know what they are doing.

My take is, they are not going to ask anything unreasonable nor unexpected. If you are legit and respond truthfully it should work out. My take is if you are asked something and cant readily respond or worse dont have an answer than rightfully thats likely a negative....as again they aren't going to ask anything absurd.

Look at the position they are in an anticipate some of the question they may have based on your relationship and evidence. Cause thats exactly what they are doing. What may they asked based on the evidence provided....or perhaps not provided?

What should you take or not take? Again not sure why ppl ask this all the time? Just take everything that may be applicable and if you need it you got it if you dont' you don't.

Just relax its pretty reasonable from my understanding and other reviews. But the fail rate was also high according to my wife so not sure what was up w/ those cases or missing evidence.

Bring your passport when you go, they will look at her appt. letter and you just say your the fiancee. It's not a big deal to get in. When she is called up for the interview walk up with her and introduce yourself as the petitioner. They will probably tell you to be seated. The seating is close to the windows and you can hear everything being said. If they need you they will ask you to return to the window. Some petitioners were asked questions others like me were never asked anything. As far as all of your documents you should have recieved the info from the consulate in package 3 containing everything you need.

Thank you so much. Do you think the CO will ask him some questions?

I can only speak from my own personal experience. We had red flags I addressed all these before hand by front loading the 1-129f. We practiced questions before hand and the night before the interview. We did bring a lot of relationship evidence with us, none was asked for. As others here will say the feeling is the consular has made his mind up before you get there. I think any raised flags that were not addressed could be reasons for them to ask questions and if your initial evidence is weak expect scrutiny as to the validity of the relationship.
