I was just about to post about it too! Grrrrrr. I contacted my Congressman's office today. The guy who works there asked me to fax him our interview notice from Sept, the cancellation notice and the letter stating the medical expired. He said he could make an inquiry about the case, but now that the processing times still show February 8, I'm not sure if it would be better to wait until we are "officially" outside of processing time. What do you guys think?

Please let us know how it goes.

That's a really long wait!  I hope you get an interview soon.  A year and 2 cancellations....Wow.  Do you know is there some particular reason for that?  Or is it just bad luck?

Thanks dilly! I have no idea why it has taken so long. The 2 interview cancellations have been extremely frustrating. It's likely that my Medical examination will be expired too...so that's more hassle and expense to have that done again.

It's a little concerning that we are outside of the processing times now. I was told by my local senator's office that the reason why my interview was cancelled twice was because they do not have enough staff available and that many interviews were double scheduled and then canceled. Now I don't believe that. It almost appears that if an interview is cancelled, you go to the bottom of the next available staff member's pile.

There appears to be no rhyme or reason as to how this procedure works. There are people from 2015 that haven't had interviews yet so the priority date is truly meaningless.

I have just applied and received my receipt for renewal EAD - I was pleasantly surprised to read that the receipt acts as an extension for 180 days from the original EAD expiry...so at least I won't be without employment...and if the green card hasn't arrived by then it'll be time to apply for the 10 year GC after being married for 2 years.

We all just have to be patient.

Arrived on P1 Visa - 2012

Ditto on the EAD renewal part. Seeing the extension is a huge relief. Although it really sucks that we are outside processing times, at least there are others going through the same. I don't know what I would do if I wasn't able to talk to others about how stressful this process is... I swear anyone who hasn't been through it can't understand lol

Good afternoon NYC crew,

I got a response from the Congressman's office today, which I take as good news. The amazing aide at his office sent me the exact response that he got from USCIS regarding my case...

"Please be advised that the applicant’s I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, MSCXXXXXXXXXX, A# XXXXXXXX is in the local scheduling queue for an Adjustment of Status interview at USCIS, New York District office. Currently there are no interview dates available. USCIS will schedule the case for interview as soon as an interview date becomes available.

Mrs. XXXXXXXXX should receive a new appointment notice within 60 days. USCIS mailed her a notice on January 31st, 2017 stating her Form I-693m has expired. On her next scheduled interview, please submit a new medical Form I-693 in a sealed envelope.

Mrs. XXXXXXXXX will be notified by mail once an interview date becomes available."

So apparently they are just really, really backlogged right now... At least we are on the queue and they gave us a margin of 60 days. And it's comforting to know nothing is wrong with our application or that it's lost or something crazy like that.
