another forum who has beenwaiting for a decision for almost a year and yesterday she got. Her I130 approval too! I am happy for you. Let me send you the link i think she also got RFE for medical that expired.

Hi everyone,  joining in on the New York thread.  This has been a very difficult process.

 

Here's my story:

 

Married my now wife in January

Filed for AOS Feb 2016

Took 5 months to receive my EAD/AP (They lost the first one)

Received the EAD card in July (With April 2017 expiry)

August 2016 - Interview Scheduled for September

USCIS cancel the interview

November 2016 - Interview Scheduled for December 

USCIS Cancel the interview AGAIN!!!!

Contacted Congressman December 2016 (I'm told that there is just a long wait for interviews and not enough officers)

 

Now I'm planning to apply for EAD renewal since it expires in April (Even though I only get 8 months use out of the one I have)

 

It's been a stressful process, but what more can we do?  Has anyone had any success contacting the Ombudsman?

You should contact Ombudsman. They will give you 45 days, if they don't answer, email them again asking about your inquiry. They reply the same day, they're very fast too. I believe they are helpful, its just USCIS that's kinda backed up now. So pantience is key right now. Keep making service requests or call the 1-800 number before 10AM and ask for Tier2 officer. Good luck to you!

My husband and I will have 2 years of being married in two more weeks, so I was wondering if they're gonna approve me for the 10 year green card or conditional ? I already went to my interview and they approved my I-130 & my I-485 still pending. What you guys think?

ya u should be.. you shouldnt have to worry about a conditional.. you should be getting a 10 year... cuz ud be married 2 years..

yea i did my research and found out the medical exam only lasts 1 year.. smh.. thanks though

Yeah when I had an info pass I asked if they would ask for a new medical exam if it had expired. They said it depended on the agent looking at your case. That seems to be the answer for everything, "it depends" lol

I'm going to my infopass in february... I'm actually surprised that we were able to book an appointment.  I need to be secure about traveling.  I received a message that they are targeting certain countries and forcing them that hold greencards to sign the I-407 to make them give up their greencards. Then this craziness that is happening with the banning... what will happen when we travel together.. lets say I have my greencard before then... what will happen upon return... this is very scary

I know what you mean. Even though we're not from the countries targeted who's not to say we won't be next lol you just never know. Please let us know what they say! I have exactly the same concern..
