I am scared of this... but I purchased a rfid wallet, because I have been a victim of electronic pocket picking before so I am extremely paranoid... id be so mad if someone steals my wallet somehow though... I was already planning to put it away like I put away the social and my passport..

 

I kinda want to not follow because I removed the visitor status on my drivers license so there shouldnt be any reason for ICE or whoever to question my status here... I could be wrong but i just think it is so unsafe to take it with you.. 

 

For now my husband is making me take it with me because ICE, I guess, can approach me at anytime, god forbid, and requests it.. he assumes

I read somewhere that it is a misdemeanor for not carrying the green card with you. Also, if you found guilty you can be fined up to $100 or even jail time up to 30 days. I don't know how true is this or if this ever happened. This is so silly lol. A valid unexpired government issued ID should suffice it.

Hi, I took a folder containing all my original paperwork (birth certificate, marriage certificate, photographs, most recent tax transcript etc). Basically everything that was listed on the interview notice.

 

Our lawyer brought copies of the same which he handed over and the officer reviewed the originals then gave them back but kept the copies. 

 

Things to remember: when you applied back in the day, it was a previous tax year so you need this year's tax transcript. If you've traveled since applying for AOS, you will need a new I-94. These could catch you out. I also needed a new medical since it was over a year since my last one.

NYC office processes AOS at 10-10.5 months on average.  You can expect yours by August month end going into early Sept.  Mine took 10 months and 4 days.  Good Luck!  As of now you can just gather the required documents.

Check out my signature, we also had a typo on the EAD/AP.... then they sent it to the wrong address.... delays delays *sigh*.... my PD was June 3, 2016 still no GC... I am contacting the Ombudsman to see if that does anything...

NYC office processes AOS at 10-10.5 months on average.  You can expect yours by August month end going into early Sept.  Mine took 10 months and 4 days.  Good Luck!  As of now you can just gather the required documents.

I have everything ready to go and just patiently waiting.. lol!

(day 113) Biometric reuse letter mailed 2/12/2021

(day 279) Text saying there is an update to our cases, interview scheduled for August 26, 2021 7/29/2021

(day 322) Oath ceremony will be scheduled 9/10/2021

(day 327) Oath ceremony scheduled for Oct 1st 9/14/2021

(day 343) Oath ceremony complete & certificate received! Applied for US passport same day. 10/1/2021

That EAD threw me for a loop for sure. So much work on our end and the USCIS makes a mistake... ugh. Do you think this is the reason for your delay? PD of June 3 is over a year ago, I'm nervous now!

Don't want you to be nervous, others have had better experiences... just want to contribute my data point! This is frustrating for us because it is delaying a big trip overseas since I am not sure we will have either the GC or a renewed EAD by September when we are scheduled to leave.... I thought 15 months was enough cushion... maybe not unfortunately!

May 31, 2019: [Day 6] NOA1 received (18 mo extension) & check cashed

June 09, 2019: [Day 15]  Biometrics Waived Letter Received, service center "NBC", text reading "This notice informs you that USCIS is able to reuse your previously captured fingerprints and other biometrics. USCIS will run the same security checks and use your biometric data as in the past, however, it is not necessary for you to appear at a USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) for biometrics appointment."

Sept 13, 2019:  Notice that I-751 was transferred to another office "That office now has jurisdiction over your case" 

Apr 7, 2020:  Notice that I-751 was transferred to another office "That office now has jurisdiction over your case" 

Mar 5, 2021:  Interview scheduled for April 16, 2021.

Apr 16, 2021:  Interview in Portland, OR. Refused entry to USCIS office due to have traveled abroad in the past 10 days. No interview. However, a few hours after refusal, received notice of approval and card produced!  

Apr 20, 2021:  Card mailed! "On April 20, 2021, we mailed your new card for your Form I751, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS ON RESIDENCE"

I appreciate the contribution :) I can imagine how frustrated you are, it's been 15 months! Keeping my fingers crossed for you and everyone here that is waiting as well!
