Ok so here's my interview.  My priority date was July 26th 2017, my interview was at 26 Federal Plaza, Nyc at 1.30pm on the 8th floor, May 30th 2017 (308 days from PD).  My husband and I got to the 26 Federal Plaza at minutes to 12pm.  We proceeded through security airport style and went to the 6th floor to the cafeteria to kill time.  Minutes to 1 we proceeded to the 8th floor and headed to the window to check in they then handed us a transfer slip and advised us to go to the fourth floor room 437.  I was a bit upset about this and begun to worry, my husband wasnt worrying at all.  Then again he never reads the reviews anyways.  We had to check in again, this time it was 1.00pm.  We were in a much smaller room, there were barely any seats left.  We sat and observed couples and families with their lawyers, and translators going in and out.  I tried to read expressions on the faces when they left, it was so hard to read.  Our interview was scheduled for 1.30pm however, our number wasn't called until about 2.10pm-2.15pm.  When he called our number my husband jumped up and I was still wondering is it our number?.  The officer introduced himself and escorted us to his office/cubicle and asked us to remain standing and had us raise our right hands and swore us in.  We replied yes of course.  The actual interview started with the officer verifying documents, asked for our birth certificates, marriage certificate, my passport, our i.d's.. then he handed them back minus my passport and driver's license.  He also asked for our photos, we carried two albums and he went through them and took out quite a few to add to our file.  He asked for any statements that had our names and our 2016 taxes.  We handed them to him.  We were very prepared we had so many documents.  We were then having small talk it felt like a normal conversation at first regarding where we lived and how his brother lives near us, also that he went to the same restaurant that my husband and I have gone to a couple of times. He then stated how he was going to ask us questions to each of us and that only the person that is questioned should respond. My husband was asked questions first, the questions ranged from listing my full name, birthday, parents names, how many siblings and their names. If he talks to my parents and how often, if they met yet, same for as my siblings, also had to state their names. Other questions he was asked were when and how we met, first time we saw each other. How he proposed to me, where our wedding was, who attended, what we did that day. He was also asked how his parents felt about the marriage. Asked about where his siblings lived, why his parents and my husband moved to California, and if they moved back to Illinois. Also they asked about our address and where we live.  He practically asked my husband and I the same questions.  Although we have joint bank accounts and I am on my husband's car insurance and we share credit cards we didnt have a lease. We pay rent in a basement at one location without a lease and get our mail at another location.  Our landlord prepared a sworn affidavit for us but wanted to mention that he is a family friend and that we live with him.  The truth is the landlord doesnt pay taxes for the income he receives from our rent. So when my husband was trying to protect the landlord by saying we are friends living with him, the officer rightfully was confused as to why we get our mail at UPS store, I was so mad that he did that.  When the interview concluded the officer told us it will be held for review that he was satisfied with the questions but he needed to do some more security checks and to wait up to 120 days.  I was so disappointed.  I was angry and so annoyed.  At this point I was like I just want to go home, ive been really homesick anyways.  I had planned on staying in NYC a bit longer before heading upstate where I reside in Dutchess County.  While driving home my husband checked the uscis app and it changed from hold for review to card ordered or card production.  While at dinner, I received emails on my phone it then changed to case approved.  The I-130 is still case received though *shrugs*.

Hi guys, we received the Approval email at around 10 PM last night. Now I feel like it's appropriate for me to do my post about the whole experience...

Our appointment was at 10:45. We were at the Federal Plaza like at 9:20 lol so we had some breakfast and went upstairs at around 10:20. We went to the 8th floor and then they told us to go to room 4-107. We headed downstairs and went to the window and drew a ticket #. Couples were getting called in and it seemed like there was no order to the tickets at all. We were called in like an hour later, at this point I was getting nervous because of the long wait lol.

We went into our officer's desk, were sworn in. At this point he asked to see both of our IDs and original documents. We gave him our marriage certificate, birth certificates. He asked for any state ID (I gave him my NY State Driver's permit), all my EADs (my current one, old one, and the one I had when I graduated F-1) and all of my passports. He also asked for my i-94. My husband gave him his Driver's license and passport.

He then asked us questions... First he asked my husband-- What's your wife's full name? How did you two meet? What do you call your wife (pet name, nickname) DOB? Where was she born? Where does she work? What is her profession? Since when does she work there? Confirm your address? Since when do you live there?

Then he asked me -- What is your husband's full name? What is his DOB? Where was he born? What is close family member's names? How old are his siblings? Who do you live with (alone or with family... we live with his sister and our nephew)? Where does he work? What is his profession? Since when does he live there?

All questions were very basic and easy. Then he asked for any proof of joint documents. We gave him our health insurance cards, dental/vision cards, joint credit card account, joint checking and savings info, joint cellphone information (which he actually looked and asked which number is whose lol), affidavits of support, and lots of pictures. He said he needed to make some copies of the documents and pictures. After that he asked us all the Yes/No questions from I-485 form. I answered no to all.

Last thing, he asked us if we had any questions. I was so anxious I asked "so what is the next step?" He said, I have to make a decision it can take anywhere from a couple days to 4 months. I tried to hide the disappointment in my face, but we just said ok... He then said he had to make the photocopies, to step outside, and once he did he gave us the stuff back and we left.

I was so bummed because I was expecting some sort of answer that day. my husband took me to have some Honduran food because he knew I was disappointed lol. We went home and took a nap. I woke up at 5 PM with an email that said Card/Document in production. Then at 10 PM we received the email that said Approved. My husband and I were jumping up and down!!! Thank you to everyone who gave me words of encouragement when I felt like this process would never end. It really did help a lot. my best advice would be to keep on top of the application... A mistake with our address delayed our process by 4 almost 5 months. If you have any questions pls feel free to reach out. and of course GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE!!!! You will make it through... it took me a year and a half so I know how anxiety-inducing this whole process it. Just rely on each other to get through it. :):):)

Did you guys get approved on the I-130 as well??? our own is still case received.

That's the sense I got too from reading around the board about it. My I-130 still shows as Case Received, but I-485 shows Case Approved.

Received the I-130 approval in the mail, with the notice date of May 30th 2017.. still case received. Yes I knew it would have approved since the i485 approved I was a bit puzzled on the day of the interview though.
