My spouse has a certified certicate of birth attestation, WHICH is used as a legal birth certicate.

The NPC came from a different place, we used the PP to obtain that document.

whats the PP?

does the birth attestation work with the i485 process? because birth cert is a required doc for that application

Yes, the birth attestation is a legal document that is accepted by the US Embassy.

Anyone over the age of 16 must obtain a Police Report, which is good for one year. Its a requirement.

yeah and it has a 1 year validity i understand that part , but i meant the npc birth cert i heard there was some age thing where if u were born after 1992 you wont get a npc cert ull only get the attestation? not sure if thats true or not

Your fiancee will get what's called an attestation of birth from the National Population Commission. The NPC was only authorized by law to issue birth certificates in 1992, so anyone born prior to that year can't legally receive a birth certificate from the NPC.

She should take a declaration of age -- an affidavit sworn in a federal high court in the same state as the NPC office -- as well as a few passport photographs to the NPC to apply for the attestation of birth. (The declaration of age should be sworn by a relative old enough to have witnessed her birth, preferably her mother.)

In your filing documents to the National Visa Center, be sure to include both the NPC attestation of birth and the sworn declaration of age. You need to do this because the NVC prefers the NPC birth certificate but will accept the attestation of birth plus other corroborating documentation (like the sworn declaration of age).

Hope that clears things up. Follow the above strictly and you'll be fine.

she got her age of declaration in bayelsa state in 2011 and we planned on getting the attestation of birth at the her local npc office in rivers state, would that be ok or does she have to go to the npc office in bayelsa?

and when u say filling to the nvc do you mean when i file for the i485? or shoould i include her attestation and age of declaration oin my k1 petition?

thanks u cleared alot
