of course - because it's easier to paint someone with your own reality rather than give the benefit of the doubt.

too much of a coincidence for my taste.

If you want to ignore the open displays of xenophobia and fascism, and pretend it's not there, you're the one giving the benefit of the doubt.

I have no problem giving someone the benefit of the doubt, but I tend to have an easier time doing that in circumstances where some doubt exists.

What joke about someone's wife do you find funny? Because the person in question who told the "joke" has made it clear that his wife is completely off limits. But then again, I'm talking to a person who "doesn't like a candidate" but going to vote for him just to spite someone here.

Hey, those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Anyway, you asked me why is free college tuition such a bad thing. I answered. You have not come up with a single counter argument. I think that pretty much makes the case that socialism is nothing but hot air not backed by any facts.

Whose throwing stones while living in a glass house? I don't attack someone's spouse if I have an issue with them. And if I have an issue with their spouse, I'd still address the husband. You can't take shots then run and hide when it's your turn to take the lumps. Cowardly I'd say.

I haven't said anything because others have chimed in and had dialogue with you. Also you didn't answer my question as well. What was so funny Oriz about a member making those kind of comments towards my wife and I?

Val and Jacques both had input. Not in length, but input. Personally, I think anything that helps college kids get ahead without putting them into debt is a good thing.

And you STILL haven't answered my question.

Have to disagree.

The level of graduate back when the universities were free in the UK compared to now??

state University, community college should be free. just like trade schools at high school level should be free. doesn't mean that privately funded schools don't exist.

Val and Jacques both had input. Not in length, but input. Personally, I think anything that helps college kids get ahead without putting them into debt is a good thing.

And you STILL haven't answered my question.

You call THAT input? Really? I give you several points to think of and all you guys can say is "uhhh well yes of course we need it, because we just need it, because it's good". I rest my case. Hot air with nothing to back it up, as always. Socialism always has been and always will be a failed system, and it is so sad that so many young kids these days are buying this BS. In case you missed it, free college will actually increase and not decrease inequality. It's really one of the stupidest plans I've ever heard of. And never forget...whatever the government gives you it can take away just as easily.

So in other words none of you actually have a single good reason to compete with mine. So I'll give you the exact same answer:

It was funny, because it was funny.

Oriz, I wasn't arguing with you. I asked for your input, you gave it. I didn't respond because being in a different time zone puts me behind the rest of the us. So I read your response and said to myself, self, that's a thorough answer, and let it rest. What's so funny is you're going through all of this but you won't answer my question, even though it doesn't require a four page letter.

As far as hot air, I can find MANY topics you've bowed out of and didn't answer(GOP diversity, racism, Trump support) with this much enthusiasm. What's wrong? Just can't admit why you find an attack on a member and his wife funny?

Because it wasn't an attack. I view it as part of the mutual stab exchange you've both had, so don't act like you're nothing but the all innocent side in this situation.

Like I said...remember, the glass house? It's just like those racist, hateful agitators that are now crying that they have been roughed up. I don't condone violence in general(whether physical, OR verbal/taunting/agitating to me is the same thing). If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen. If you're going to stir up trouble you get what you deserve. There's a few agitators in this forum that if they went to stir up trouble in a rally and got roughed up I wouldn't mind that, either. It would be well deserved.

I never bow out, so unless you plan to be more specific don't bother.

Statistics on a 10-yr-old free college education program. Minimum award is full tuition, based on minimum requirements below, and increases from there.

http://www.nola.com/politics/index.ssf/2014/12/tops_louisiana_demographics.html

TOPS is awarded to college-bound residents who attend a Louisiana university -- public or private -- and earn a 2.5 GPA and a 20 ACT score in high school.

There is a full PDF report embedded in the article. Read it, and discuss this as informed individuals. Me? I think it's a good program, but I think that if it's awarded and the student doesn't follow through the student should be required to pay it back. It looks like 33% of the money gets wasted.

That is vastly different from "free college tuition for all". If you read what I wrote on that 2 pages back, then I definitely think it is a good idea to have certain criteria(like the GPA and ACT) to make sure they don't just sleep through the whole thing "because it's free". However, I think there should definitely be financial eligibility as well. I think it is a waste of money to give aid to those who can already afford it. Can't accuse me of being a socialist - it's just common sense. Aid should be reserved for those in need.

I for one did not counter because I fell asleep halfway through...are you a college professor?
