I`m working part time now AND can you apply for a food stamp while your wife i-485 still on processing? need advise on this?

You can apply. I believe you have to report her income, but cannot count her in the household count. She cannot receive food stamps. You can.

Besides food stamp, you could also go to your local food bank.

they do need to be listed on the application but there is a spot to mark as ineligible

Food stamps are a means tested benefit. The US citizen can them them, the beneficiary cannot

Race, Gender, Marital Status do not matter when applying for Food Stamps or any other means tested benefit. Any USC is eligible to apply and receive assistance if they meet the criteria. All members of the household including non citizens must be on the case so all income is reported, but as stated above, non citizens do not receive benefits. Only eligible household members will receive benefits. Good luck, and I hope that helps.

No, as long as you follow the rules (e.g make sure that only you, the USC receive food stamps, your immigrant spouse does not), it will not affect the petition.
