PASSPORT RENEWAL AT WASHINGTON DC PHIL EMBASSY

Here is the long answer to your question

A marriage license is a piece of paper that authorizes you to get married and a marriage certificate is a document that proves you are married.

Typically, couples obtain a marriage license, hold the wedding ceremony, and then have the person who performed the ceremony file a marriage certificate in the appropriate county office within a few days. (This may be the office of the county clerk, recorder or registrar, depending on where you live.) The married couple will be sent a certified copy of the marriage certificate within a few weeks after the marriage ceremony.

Most states require both spouses, along with the person who officiated and one or two witnesses, to sign the marriage certificate; often this is done just after the ceremony.

After marriage some states endorse the bottom portion of the license so now it becomes the marriage certificate that is proof you are legally married.

Hello and Mabuhay mga kababayan!

Ask lang po, I'm going for an outreach program in Miami this August 26, 2016 for renewing my expired passport and I'm gonna be out of the country first week of December do I have enough time to get my passport before dec?

Hope somebody can help me. And does anyone here renew their expired passport in Philippine Honorary Consulate in Miami, FL?

A reply would be appreciated.

Thank you and have a good day everyone!

I would think so. My wife renewed her passport and registered her marriage at the same time at D.C. consulate (Embassy). If the consulate at DC can do it, then Chicago should also.

It takes about 60+ days for your new passport to arrive. You can only renew at a Consulate location (full fledge) and Miami is not.

We just re-newed, with name change, at Dayton outreach from the Chicago consulate without any issues. They take all the biometric gathering equipment with them (at least Chicago does). Would embassy - Miami be any different?

Passport was back within a month. I think they told us 6 weeks so we were impressed that it arrived so quickly.

That was really quick. I need to look into that for my wife as well.

This was through the LA consulate. The outreach event went very smoothly back then, we got ROM and renewal done.

We went to a Chicago outreach in Dayton OH on July 23 for a surname change and renewal.

Eight weeks now and still no return. Consulate told us 6-8 weeks so we are expecting it soon, but we have no time constraints so not a big issue.

Hi Guys! I’ll be having a trip to LA next week but I’m a little worried because my passport ain’t here yet.. I renewed it July 25th and I’m expecting it to arrive asap cause my friends told me that they received theirs a little over 2mos. I tried to reach the phone number for the embassy in Washington D.C but no ones picking up the phone. Can someone give me some advices and at least any tips in order to check or track my passport aside from checking it online and depending if it’s “ready” or “not yet ready for release” statements. Responding to this message will be a big help, Please & Thankyou!

A trip to LA?    ... you don't need a passport to travel within the USA.   You have your green card, that is all you need.

If you are traveling within the USA then you don't need a passport. You just need your drivers license or your green card.

Green card is required.  DL may please TSA as a picture ID.   But it is not an either/or situation.

A Permanent Resident Card (Green Card) is issued to all permanent residents as proof that they are authorized to live and work in the United States. If you are a permanent resident age 18 or older, you are required to have a valid Green Card in your possession at all times.

https://www.uscis.gov/green-card/after-green-card-granted

And if no green card, passport and I-94 are actually required to be in possession.  (ya I know.. show me anyone who carried that ... besides my wife as we traveled through CBP check points all the time in AZ)
