Cr1 visa... Do I need to wait for interview date to get medical?

Simple question really. Do I have to wait for an interview date to schedule the medical? I just got a checklist last week from nvc which has spoiled our plans a little. I'm off to new York at the end of this month and was planning to only return for the interview.

You have to wait for your interview date to be set first before you take your medical.

Could be a while before you get an interview. Normally takes an additional 30day to review your checklist then depending on if your case is completed could take around 60 days to get an interview date set that would be one month away from the day and time it was made so if all goes smooth you should have cc and interview in the next 2-3 months.
