Hello, I have sent off the AOS/EAD&Travel paper works on Friday. I really hope I sent everything they required.

My question is do you guys know what is next or how long will it take to hear back from them?

I have already got my SS and Now that I have my original married certificate, can I use it to apply for a state ID?

Thank you'll.

Hello, I have sent off the AOS/EAD&Travel paper works on Friday. I really hope I sent everything they required.

My question is do you guys know what is next or how long will it take to hear back from them? Generally EAD/AP combo cards are taking 60-90 days to process, check out the AOS forum for AOS processing times.

I have already got my SS and Now that I have my original married certificate, can I use it to apply for a state ID? Depends on the regulations of the State where you live. Check out the Moving to US and Your New Life in America forum for frequent similar discussions.

Thank you'll.

No, not really. Besides, there isn't much you can do about your I-94 expiring. You have sent in your AOS paperwork. When you receive your NOA1 you will again be "in-status."

To be on the safe side, I would avoid traveling too close to the southwestern border area. Particularly in Texas, there are reports of mobile CBP document inspection stations. They can really mess up your day if you do not have all of the proper and valid paperwork. Read some threads in this forum for more information.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

It takes on average 90 days. At some point you may receive a letter, asking you to go to a biometrics appointment. My husband received his EAD about 2 months after that appointment.

As for state ID, in general most states will require you to have an EAD to obtain it. You will also most likely need a few other proofs of address. You will have to refer to your local DMV requirements. We presented my husband's EAD and additional paperwork, took a test, and he was issued his driver's license with no problem. In general the ID or license will be granted only for the length of time the EAD is. So once you receive your green card, you will have to go back and renew.

Should I be worried now that my I94 will expire tomorrow march 14?

No. It's normal to expire. What do you think there is to worry about? As you have applied to adjust status, all you can do now is wait until you have your approvals. Relax and start living life with your spouse. :)

Wow @yuna628. Me and my husband have planned our trip to go to Dallas for wrestlemania. Please don't tell me my ticket might go down the drain? Feeling sad. A mean, am traveling within the state.

You can still travel within the USA.

Do you live in Cali like your profile says or in Texas?

A little puzzled... where did you get the impression I said anything negative about your travel plans here?

I said nothing about state to state travel. I've certainly traveled with my husband through many states.. by car.

Flying should be fine as you're flying domestically. It is possible they can stop and question you but it's likely they won't. Bring your passport with you at all times and your marriage certificate when you're travelling. You're here legally. If you get your NOA1 between now and your flight, make sure to bring it.

I recently applied as well. it took 10 days after I received NOA1 to get my appointment for biometrics screening. Here in Arizona, you can not get an ID or Drivers license until you get your EAD or GC. but it varies from State to State. However you can apply with your I 94 but it will only be valid for the 90 days here. What a waste. It has been taking about 90 days for the EAD, AP and in some cases even the greencard if no interview is deemed necessary. I should hearing something in the next 2 weeks about my status. will keep you posted on approval times.
