And his competitors did not say in public:

"The audience hit back. That's what we need a little bit more of."

"Part of the problem ... is nobody wants to hurt each other anymore."

"In the good old days this doesn't happen because they used to treat them very, very rough."

"Try not to hurt him. If you do, I'll defend you in court, don't worry about it."

"I'd like to punch him in the face."

"Knock the ####### out of them."

"Maybe he should have been roughed up."

"I dont know if Ill do the fighting myself or if other people will."

Plus 1.

You are focused on the events in Chicago, What about the language used by Trump to incite violence?

It is your right to say that his language is inciting violence. I don't see it that way. Disrupters are coming in to his rallies with the only goal of starting violence. Trump supporters are very peaceful. They understand the double standard that is being applied. Basically we had one guy sucker punch a protester out of what….a million or so Trump supporters. This is what the disrupters want. Anything to start a riot. The disrupters love riots and violence. Thats what they thrive on.

It is pathetic that anyone would support these animals.

That French magazine showing images of Mohammad were inciting violence...

The two men in California that made a movie portraying Mohammad were inciting violence...

Salman Rushdie wrote a book in the 1980's - he was inciting violence

We could go on and on and on all day..

Complete utter BS - Smashing up a town and committing violence because you are angry is despicable, wearing shirts that says your are going to commit violence on people you disagree with and going to a rally of his supporters and starting a fight is despicable. Justify it all you want. IT. WAS. WRONG. and those that did it are total POS.

Yes we can, so why don't we start with something relevant, like all the incidents that have happened at Trump rallies? You know, the ones where people were beat up, spit on, removed for asking questions(free speech), jumped, punched in the face.

Trump followers and Trump himself have NO issue doling out violence when it suits them. He doesn't get to play poor me when these things have happened on his watch right in front of him and he not only refuses to apologize, but approves of it.

My guess is he realizes he has maxed out on vilifying the other Republican nominees and the establishment and now needs new groups to vilify to fire up his base. I am sure choosing University of Illinois is no mistake on Trumps part.

College community wants Trump rally booted from campus

Thousands of students are planning to protest Donald Trump when he comes to the University of Illinois' Chicago campus Friday. And many professors don't want him there either. They worry the scene could turn violent.

More than 300 faculty and staff members have asked the college to cancel the event for the leading Republican presidential candidate, citing reports that his supporters and security have verbally and physically assaulted those opposing the candidate at recent campaign rallies.

"We are deeply distressed that this event threatens to create a hostile and physically dangerous environment to the students, staff, faculty and alumni who come out to express their opposition," the letter reads.

Nearly 50,000 people have signed an online petition against Trump coming to UIC. And more than 9,000 have said on Facebook they'll be there to protest.

The petition says the rally has "no place" on a college campus, because "Donald Trump is running on a platform of hate and dangerous intolerance."

Only like minded free speech I guess. Very sad they cannot support the 1st amendment.

The First Amendment states, in relevant part, that:

“Congress shall make no law...abridging freedom of speech.”

Freedom of speech includes the right:

Not to speak (specifically, the right not to salute the flag).

West Virginia Board of Education v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624 (1943).

Of students to wear black armbands to school to protest a war (“Students do not shed their constitutional rights at the schoolhouse gate.”).

Tinker v. Des Moines, 393 U.S. 503 (1969).

To use certain offensive words and phrases to convey political messages.

Cohen v. California, 403 U.S. 15 (1971).

To contribute money (under certain circumstances) to political campaigns.

Buckley v. Valeo, 424 U.S. 1 (1976).

To advertise commercial products and professional services (with some restrictions).

Virginia Board of Pharmacy v. Virginia Consumer Council, 425 U.S. 748 (1976); Bates v. State Bar of Arizona, 433 U.S. 350 (1977).

To engage in symbolic speech, (e.g., burning the flag in protest).

Texas v. Johnson, 491 U.S. 397 (1989); United States v. Eichman, 496 U.S. 310 (1990).

Freedom of speech does not include the right:

To incite actions that would harm others (e.g., “hout[ing] ‘fire’ in a crowded theater.”).

Schenck v. United States, 249 U.S. 47 (1919).

Thats exactly what the disrupters are doing. That is their goal. Shut down those they don't agree with.

You do realize that Trump rallies have been doing this WITH VIOLENCE? Why is it okay for them to rough up people who don't agree with him?

I obliviously don't understand what it means to want someone: "taken out on a stretcher" if that is protected speech

Again direct from Trumps mouth , in public:

"The audience hit back. That's what we need a little bit more of."

"Part of the problem ... is nobody wants to hurt each other anymore."

"In the good old days this doesn't happen because they used to treat them very, very rough."

Hopefully we can all agree that people should be allowed to campaign as they choose. Voters should be allowed to vote for the candidate of their choice. It is pathetic that people choose to support the side of these violent and disruptive protesters. They are low lives and we need to come together to stop these animals.

We should just wait and vote rather than trying to shut down the opposition.

Sadly enough I agree.

I don't know why but it's like folks can't see the trap he's laying down. Now that they've done this, he's got the perfect ammo. No matter how many people he hurts at his rallies, it will never matter until it's turned back on him. Now it's an issue.

You don't fight fire with fire. You do it with water. Instead of protesting and disruption, go throw that energy behind your candidate. Sanders, Clinton, hell another GOP member. Every time you tango with a hateful person using the same moves, no matter what, you'll lose.

I have one question. Where was this logic when people were getting beaten up by Trump supporters?
