HI! I'm waiting for the I-129f decision after the RFE

My fiance is a US citizen and he filed the petition for K1 visa on September 2015. Two weeks later he got the RFE (Request For Evidence) letter from USCIS and he sent it right away on the same day. The online status says that On October 13, 2015 they have accepted the RFE response and they will start working on the case again. It's been 5 months now but we haven't heard anything new. So status change whatsoever. Yesterday my fiance inquired online about the "long processing time" and he was told to expect the reply by April 2, 2016. So.. We're hopeful. It makes us worry knowing that a lot of people got their decisions very fast after the RFE. For info: my fiance put the plane tickets, hotel bookings, passport stamps, out engagement photos along my fam too, and the cover letter saying how we knew each other and the dates when we met in person. I'm feeling so frustrated now with this uncertainty and the waiting game.

Indeed. Welcome to the forums.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Thank you so much! :) how long did it take you to get the decision after filing?

I'm quite desperate at the moment and nothing we can do but wait. Few months ago my fiance tried calling the USCIS customer service but the guy on the phone said he only wanted to talk to lawyers so he didn't give out anything. Is it always like this? Because I've read other blogs that they could ask about their cases without lawyers. I'm so confused.

Sorry, the process sucks. I wouldn't be too worried about being getting denied. Sometimes USCIS is just really, really slow. Unfortunately you're stuck. Your husband can also contact his congressman, and they can make a status inquiry on his behalf too.

Thanks for the advice! I really appreciate it. We'll see by April 2, 2016 if we got any reply about the status inquiry first before we try to contact the congressman. Do we have to pay another fee for his help?

No, it is free. Some congressional offices are responsive and helpful, some are useless.

If I counted it from we filed it the first time before we got the RFE then it has been 6 months already now. I hope you hear from them soon! I'm waiting their reply on our case inquiry regarding the long processing time so I'm so hoping that there would be a light at the end of the tunnel by April 2, 2016 knowing something about it from them.

I know every case is different, but mines is totally different than anybody else because we have a daughter in common and we were married before for 6 years, but we decide to separate because I came back to my country to finish my career as a civil engineer and now that I finish we want to come back together again like before, that why we are desperate and I feel kinda sad because everytime that I talk with my daughter she ask me when are you coming back home dada and is very hard to answer because we don't know when and how long is going to take this all process to get done, we pray to the Lord every single day that this situation can be done ASAP... As a father is not easy for me
