Visa fee- Doninican Republic

Forgive me if this question has been asked and answered but...where is the 265 fee paid. I have read that it needs to be paid at banco popular. Then on the Dominican Republic embassy page it says you will pay on the date of your interview. Im thinking the embassy page might not be updated because it makes reference to completing the DS-156k form which i thought was no longer necessary.

Mimolicious...I'm not sure if you read the post but I have been researching and I came up with conflicting information...therefore I asked for clarification. Google has been my friend but this site is supposed to be my friend as well. Either be helpful or keep it pushing.
