i booked my husband's medical with George Street Medical Centre back in February. At that time they sent an email requesting some details, and my husband replied with the details they needed. His appointment is on Monday 14 March and we are coming in from interstate as nobody can do the medical where we live. I was putting together the paperwork today and noticed on their initial paperwork that it says in big bold letters (which we somehow didn't take notice of):

PLEASE RECONFIRM YOUR MEDICAL APPOINTMENT BY TELEPHONE (9239 1677or 9247 4653) TWO WORKING DAYS BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT, OR ELSE IT WILL BE CANCELLED.

We neglected to do this. Has anyone else neglected to do this and still gone for their scheduled appointment with no dramas? Or on the other hand, has anyone been turned away because they didn't reconfirm?

Thanks!

I tried calling today but they don't open until Monday, which is when we have the appointment. They have not been the most pleasant people to date so I'm not too confident that they will be sympathetic.

They are quite pleasant in that office so dont worry about that , they need you to verify the appointment because if you are a no show then someone else can go early. These appointments in Sydney actually have a waiting list sometimes of a couple months. Call them first thing monday morning, and hopefully your appointment is still open . Good Luck.

Just to follow up on this one - We did end up calling that morning while on our way to Sydney. They had not cancelled the appointment. Dr Waks was pleasant, and the process went smoothly. They got the report sent off to the consulate very quickly and the visa was in hand 9 days after the appointment.
