No it's their job to decide who is wanting to immigrate purely for immigration benefits and who is not. They're not purposely trying to keep apart families or make life stressful on couples. Their job is to keep fraud from happening. Does that mean that it's harder on genuine couples because people abuse the system? Yes it does, but that is not their main goal or purpose. If you want to get angry at someone, get angry at the people who commit fraud.

If praying will make you feel better than you should do so.

But USCIS knew that when they approved our petition. So now all of a sudden they change their mind? We have a 2 year old son as well. I didn't want to date my husband. I didn't want to lose him. Going back and forth from US to Ghana wouldn't have worked. So I married him right away. How are they gonna tell grown people they cant marry right away.

USCIS does not conduct background check on the foreign relative , they just go through a check list to make sure the USC is clean , meets and provided all the required documents.

so USCIS did its job. It is the local embassy that conducts background checks and verifies the stories and paperwork concerning the alien relative.

Nobody is talking about background checks. I'm talking about USCIS knew we got married quickly. I disclosed that info in my petition. I told them everything. I'm just a straight up person.

You missed my point.. You said USCIS knew you got married quickly and I am telling you it is not USCIS's job to make that determination. it is the embassy that goes through your paper work to to verify and confirm your statements and document and make a decision.

As I said again, USCIS just checks to make sure you brought the required documents and they do background checks on the petitioner.

Stop attacking the background checks part, that doesn't apply to your issue...

USCIS did it's job..you can blame the embassy but not USCIS...

by the way, your own review says "Me and my husband have a 18 year old son and they still don't believe our marriage is real."

You are saying in this thread that you "We have a 2 year old son as well."...go figure!

my fiance and I were denied also but we wouldn't blame USCIS for the embassy's decision.

First of all the 18 year old comment was a typo on my part. You are dead wrong. USCIS does review petitions for bonafide marriages. If that was the case USCIS would never deny petitions. USCIS do reject petitions when they believe marriages are not bonafide. That's why they ask for proof. Pictures, signed affidavits, etc.

Kofi1, unfortunately, you just have to wait. i wish there was a way to let one know why it is in AP so that you can weigh your options.

Whether to wait it out or cancel and refile with tons of front load .

Good luck!
