My husband interview was 10/17/2014. Our case was returned 12/24/2014. USCIS received our case 2/15/2015. Yesterday we received notice from USCIS they sent us a notice of intent to revoke 3/11/2016. It took 13 months to hear back. I hear they are so backlogged. Good luck.

That was quite long...does it apply to citizens too or every body

You are not asking questions about the IR1 process, you are updating your progress and asking how long. I moved your topic to the appropriate forum.

Btw, NO ONE can tell you how long.

Thanks though I hear some. Ase take long and the shortest could be a year

So they sent your petition back now you wait nothing you can do to spend it up. Once USCIS reviews your case you will get NOIR/NOID. The embassy will be requesting that your petition be Denied or Revoked.

NOIR- Notice of Intent to Revoke

NOID- Notice of Intent to Deny

  • straight away reaffirmed or
  • you will be sent a letter that the CO wrote up of their findings and issues they had with you case.
  • You would than have to address each denial /issue point with evidence then send in by the deadline.
  • USCIS reviews what you sent if they accept they will reaffirm you if not they will deny.
  • If reaffirmed you are sent back to embassy for 2nd interview.
It's been taking 12 to 16 months for people getting word from USCIS.

12 to 16 months is quite long.....thay told my wife if she has not heard any thing after six month she should call them....the whole process is like being in a hell whole.

So expect to wait another 6 months at least.

Woow...I hope mine does not go that long because we started with the senators and congressman from the scratch..it was only the case remain iin Ghana for four months so they were unable to do anything about it. Let's see what happens in two months time.

We also had our senator involved before my case was complete. Her office contacted the consular in Ghana. That's how we knew the reason why visa was denied. But to be honest it's not much they can do. Once case is sent back to USCIS you have to wait.

I will find out when I receive the notice in the mail. It was sent just yesterday.

Oh ok....but I think one of the red flag criteria is first time meeting the guy and getting married, will like to know when it comes so that I can prepare myself.

But USCIS knew that when they approved our petition. So now all of a sudden they change their mind? We have a 2 year old son as well. I didn't want to date my husband. I didn't want to lose him. Going back and forth from US to Ghana wouldn't have worked. So I married him right away. How are they gonna tell grown people they cant marry right away.
