How can I store photos while traveling?

I have a trip coming up, in the past I used a camera and a laptop, each night I would transfer pics to laptop.

I was hoping to bring just my iphone 4 (don't laugh) and an ipad.

The problem of how to transfer photos from the iphone which has limited storage space to the ipad or to some other storage means.

If my phone were newer, airdrop seems like a plan but my phone does not have that.

Even several of the file hosting sites: There app requires a newer operating system.

Sure I could post them one at a time to a facebook or instagram platform but, that would be time consuming and I think they compress them into a much smaller file.

Any ideas?

Try installing "simple Transfer" from the app store (it is free).. It does basically nothing but let you transfer photos between iOS devices without the need for itunes and works on iOS version 5.1.1 and up - the iPhone 4 can do up to version 6 and the iPad 1 can do 5.1.1 so you should have no problems.

What about Drive?

When I was an Apple user, I used to upload them onto Drive. That way you can even view them with your PC.

Drive is a Google application.

It does basically nothing but let you transfer photos between iOS devices without the need for itunes and works on iOS version 5.1.1 and up - the iPhone 4 can do up to version 6 and the iPad 1 can do 5.1.1 so you should have no problems.

This was an ideal solution.

A number of other methods would have worked if my phone had a new enough operating system but every time I tried to download dropbox, google or some similar I needed a higher system. SIMPLE TRANSFER worked.

I will also bring a trusty thumb drive to store on when I run across a internet cafe or computer.

I have never plugged my iphone into a windows computer but I guess I will figure that out.

Google Photos. It's free and unlimited. Auto background backups when on wifi.

I'm on the road. Works great with my iPhone.

Other options are not as simple as Google Photos.

Get the app on your iPhone and iPad.
