I don't think there is any difference between how I perceive things and how most American Jews do. Plenty of American Jews will tell you exactly what I said.

I think you too, are again, missing the point. Never said I don't acknowledge it exists towards black people. Nor did I ever disrespect or diminish their own experiences.

The whole issue here - and it seems I'm not the only one to have an issue with as others have made similar comments - when people hijack an issue that affects so many around the world and try and make it their own, then turn 90% of their posts into nothing but a rant about that issue(as if there's never anything else to talk about) - we're allowed to feel a little annoyed. Why didn't I comment on that quote in the signature? I must be racist. Only reason people could conceivably not like Obama? They are racists. Only reason anyone would vote for Trump? You guessed right.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying they have to change for us - I'm a huge believer in free speech. At the same time that also means we have a right to express our annoyance with it.

Take a good look at the people getting upset. The ones who are in here day in, day out talking about a certain demographic or religion. And yet, folks that are tired of talking about racism see no issue with it when it paints those folks in a negative light. It seems that talking about black people or Muslims NEVER gets old.

Neither one of us hijacks the issue. The problem is when you get those threads when the motley crew is talking about how jacked up black people and Muslims are(you've been in there right along with them when it comes to Muslims) and get hurt when myself or Janelle come in there to dispute the claims. Like our experiences as black people don't matter because it goes against the single mother, all black folks are criminals, lazy bums stereotype that gets brought up in here so much we get name dropped in some threads just to get a rise out of us. Same thing when I was a Muslim, every thread that dealt with Islam I was either brought up directly or it was worded in a way I HAD to come in and say something.

Funny how everyone is TIRED of talking about race, but only when there's a black person in the thread. Your comment, or anyone else's doesn't even exist when they're calling black youth feral, or talking about the black community, or black criminals, etc. Race is talked about here CONSTANTLY even when we're not here, but it only becomes an issue if we speak on it. Because we don't have the authority to even though we're black.
