Ours says updated today now, but still AP. But we never saw it say Ready...

I CANNOT WAIT until all of this is over! This is so nerve racking!

does it say immigrant on non immigrant ... an update date could mean they got your package from their offsite sorting place !

It says "Immigrant Visa Application" at the top. Is it supposed to change to non-immigrant?

It has been updated March 9 (interview date), March 10 (day Canada Post said it was delivered), and March 14th.

that probably means that they got your divorce order and are looking at your case ! :)

It changes to non - immigrant once its about to be printed since K1 is a non immigrant, but its handled like an immigrant to begin with (makes no sense, i know)

That is interesting... We got through the whole process without anyone saying that what we had submitted (the order) was wrong. It was only at the interview where he told him that he needed the certificate.

The interviewer told him that Canada usually issues Divorce orders, and if you want the certificate you have to go back after a few weeks to request it- no one ever told us this!

Maybe they really need both the order and the certificate? The whole thing seems strange and I wish they were a little more clear about what is needed. Or at least told us a little earlier in the process we were missing something!

That's interesting - during the NVC stage I sent them my divorce certificate, and we got a checklist. I had to send in the actual divorce order.

My fiancé Josh was there on the same day. He was also given that white paper and had to send in something (apparently Canada issues only divorce orders and you have to request divorce certificates, which is what the US needs).

He mailed it back in the same day. Our CEAC status says Administrative Processing, but the date first said March 9, and then changed to March 10 (the day Canada Post said his certificate was delivered).

When I emailed, they were very unhelpful, unfortunately.

I'm hoping we are not stuck in AP for awhile!

I'll be interested to see how your case progresses as well! Good luck!

I had to provide both but i had them both from the start. I don't know what province you are from but in Ontario the divorce order is issued when the case goes before the judge and it says right on it that neither party is free to remarry until the order goes into effect which is 31 days after the order. Once those 31 days have passed you are free to remarry and you can then get your divorce certificate. THAT is why they need both. The certificate proves that the 31 days have passed and that the divorce is now actually in effect. If you had married before those 31 days were up your marriage would not be valid. I couldn't wait for those 31 days to pass. I hated that i had to be separated for a year before being allowed to get a divorce. It made the whole process so much longer and harder to get through. Hope this helps to clear things up.

I know in BC, it's the same thing... But I got checklisted for sending in the Divorce Certificate. I'm not really sure why since I can only get the certificate if I've been divorced (and it's past the 31 days).

I wonder if there would ever be something in the divorce order that would prevent them from approving a case. The certificate really should be enough shouldn't it? It proves you're done with the process. I hated having to keep pulling it up. Even now, for citizenship I had to pull it all out AGAIN and I actually find it painful. I'll be glad to shove that in the back of the filing cabinet after next week's interview!

no, it changed to non immigrant ready and the cae creation date changed, says to check back in 2 business days !! But its not AP!!!!

i also just noticed that i replied so quickly that it lumped my complain with my excitment post haha .. speak of the devil i guess!!

Any updates on your case?

I emailed them, and they said "We received your documents on the 14th. Please allow 8 weeks for processing."

I REALLY hope this is just what they tell everyone to make them stop emailing and it's not actually going to take 8 weeks!!! ?
