Attempting to put something boring (or something other posters will not appreciate).

Maybe Bollywood can produce a film titled Theen-so (hindi for 300) about the 1660 Battle of Pavan Khind (in which 300 Marathas held off the much-larger Bijapur army at a narrow gap so that Shivaji could reach Vishalgadh from Panhala; while these soldiers were slaughtered, some of them actually survived till they heard cannon-booms from Vishalgadh--and so had the joy of dying victorious).

I saw The Warrior (2001) last year - which I quite liked and had a bit more going on than the 'big, dumb meathead-fest' that is 300.

The Greeks stopped the Persian expansion into Europe. For that I thank them.

I just saw the movie at an Imax theater.

why? Darius and co. were pretty 'peaceful' rulers.. they let the conquered countries to continue their religion, government form and way of life.. they were pretty tolerant.. compared to the greeks, or later romans, they weren't that bad..

You ever heard of the Armenian genocide and the Ottoman Empire. Yes the incident they deny to this day. Difference is this occurred early 1900's and not 600BC.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

What does the Ottoman Empire have to do with the ancient Zoroastrian Persians?

If you want to get technical to the extreme...Turkey/Anatolia (and Armenia) in ancient times was ruled by the Persian Empire.

But, much of Turkey had also been ruled by Assyrian (which held Armenia as well) and Chaldaean-Babylonian (which didn't hold Armenia) empires prior, and Macedonian (Alexander) and Roman Empires afterwards...so no other known relationship.

I was just confused by why he brought in the Ottoman Empire (which he seems to have some sort of penchant for) and the Armenian genocide in reply to a post about the practices of the Persian Empire. Its almost as though he's suggesting that they are one and the same - or are somehow indistinguishable. Indeed, judging by the "5000 years of savagery comments" he made across other threads (comments which he levelled at both the Middle East and the African continent) would seem to be a gross simplification.

I'm guessing that "Boo-Yah" is just a dummy-id for Anais Ninny (unfortunately, it is quite easy to do by simply having multiple email addresses)

I thought that Infidel/Boo-Yah and Wog-boy were the same person. At least - the views expressed seem very similar.

Nah, Infidel/Boo-Yah doesn't fill his posts with anti-American venom. He's critical at times, but not consumed with hatred.

Well it wouldn't be the first time that someone has developed an alternate troll persona in addition to their regular one.

yes 'some' of our views are similar but it pretty much ends there.

There is also a big difference between us. He hates America whereas I would like to improve America.

Ps Very limited number might I add
