Now to make sure I have the right paperwork. We got married Mon after spending a bit more than we wanted on paperwork... ($50 for a single piece paper that says I said I was single... really?)

Now my question is I leave mon and plan to file tues. In terms of marriage certificate I have a Certificado de Matrimonio (with a wet signature from the Mayor which is kinda cool but I'm pretty sure isn't official) and a Certificacion de acta de Matrimonio which I think is the official one. A certified copy of the official record. Same wording as a US Birth Certificate. This is what I send right? Here everyone says that is what I need, but online is says constancia which apparently they won't give me here. Any one use certicifiacion de actas?

Also I have a copy of her birth certificate which has an official note of legal marriage. Also kinda cool.

Marriage was in Honduras if you have questions about the paperwork involved.

I looked at the website again and noticed some things changed. Namely when I filed both birth and marriage certificates had no certified copies available... and now they both do. This was the cause of my stress, because we ended up with certified copies. But I think we are good now and know what to do.

Haha I don't even know. I submitted my I-130 with actas. The acta is a certified copy. Yes your marriage is valid. We already changed her passport with it. Its just like what you would get here in the US.

Now. I'm sure the process involves going to the RNP amd asking by name because saying forma literal doesn't work half the time. We specifically asked for the form to use with a visa and the acta is what we got.

By the way we got married in the mayors building so we know our marriage is official. Haha.
