6 year old child K2 question with parent applying for a K1 visa

Hello,

I am wondering what the procedures and paperwork is for a child that is 6 years old for a parent that I'm planning to file an I29-F and then K1 Visa. Does she have to apply for a K2 visa? or will that be given along with the K1 once her mom gets approved? Is there a fee for a K2 visa? Does she have to attend the interview? What is the probability to get a K2 visa? Also, are the documentation needed the same? Such as vaccinations etc..?

Sorry for the abundance of questions.

I heard someone told me that filing for I29F and then K1 visa is less likely to succeed if someone has a child. Not sure if that is true or not.

K-2 only has to be listet on the I-129F then after that the K-2 will need it's own medical and fees for that and own DS-160 and fees for that.

Make sure you have permission of the father to do this

some countries make it hard for a woman to take a child from the country

so, before you spend the money, get the legal paper to allow her to bring the child

The child was born in Vietnam, but the dad lives in the US. The mother divorced him in Vietnam after a few months of marriage for personal reason. So there was never any paperwork done to get the child or mother to the US. He's just supporting her financially.

Can a 6 year old child still qualify for a Consular Report of Birth Abroad (CRBA)? I read that it's better that the parents apply right after the child is born.

Anyone have any experience with a young child that age? Is it still possible to gain citizenship via CRBA?

CRBA can be applied for up to age 18. But citizenship is automatic at birth (except in the case of birth out of wedlock to American father, in which case it's automatic given that the father agrees to certain things before the child is 18). CRBA is not necessary for citizenship. If a child who is a citizen but didn't get a CRBA and is over 18, they can still get a US passport and/or a Certificate of Citizenship.

Anyway, if the child is a US citizen, they cannot get a K-2 visa.
