Hmm...I've cried during this visa process, yes...I remember I cried because after The USCIS returned our I-129F the first time (cuz the forms expired....didn't know that), the second time we tried to send it....the forms never arrived!!!!! It's just...GONE! My fiance sent it with normal USPS service so we could not track it either...doh. So I cried...not because I was sad or anything but I was extremely pissed off haha... But thank God our 3rd attempt was successful. Oh ya... I've cried several times because my fiance and I had arguments before and during the stressful visa process (although it's actually pretty short compare to others, due to few reasons I haven't seen him in almost a year..), and....hmm...I've cried trying to figure out how to make my family able to attend my marriage (haven't figured it out btw)...haha.... But I've never cried of missing my man, cuz I talk to him everyday....except now when he's underway with his lil shippie (I'm doing fine now btw cuz I'm gonna see him soon!).

Bottom line is...either because of sadness or anger....I think most of us ever cried while we're fighting to finally be in each other's arms again.

oh yeah, I almost forgot....can you update your timeline with pertinent visa info dates? (this can be done in your signature and in the edit timeline function too)

If you put in your dates into the timeline function then the site can track better. I am also planning to get some Barbados information into the Embassy topic since no one has reviewed it as of yet.

ok, later

Sue

Mel will be going home later this week for a short vacation and should be mailing out the package by Monday. Afterwards, we'll be posting the relevant dates.

I'm happy that you guys are here. Otherwise, we'd have no way of making a projection of Bridgetown's timetable. Thanks alot... and good luck to you...

Daniel

Your very welcome about the info.

Have a nice trip home Mel.

Talk with you when you get back.

Good Luck in mailing your packet, it's a huge relief to have the process officially started.

Does anyone else spend time crying over all this visa stuff? Sometimes I just feel like spending the day in my bed crying over the visa and how frustrating it can be. I mean planning a wedding is difficult enough, and then to have all this extra paperwork, planning and money to spend. Not to mention, trying to plan something around the world and not knowing when things will go through... ARGHHHH! :crying: I know it will be worth it when we are finally together in the US and I know it will just make us a stronger couple, but it's just so tough sometimes! Sorry, this is a little off topic I suppose, but I just want to know I'm not the only one out here crying! :crying:

Buck up. No one finishes this process without putting up some sort of fight. If you're freaking out now, I'd seriously hate to see your post after an RFE. Put your tears away until the visa is in hand. Right now you need to keep focused on gathering what you need for your petition. You are overwhelming yourself and not putting your priorities in order. Think first of your petition (and only of your petition) until its in the mail - then worry about your wedding. Nothing is going to happen if you lay in your bed and cry about it.

I'm like most people here, haven't cried (yet) but get incredibly frustrated when I see that other people who sent their paperwork are getting NOA1s and NOA2s left and right. It's a bittersweet type of feeling because I'm happy for them since we're all rooting for each other but then I think "what about me??"

The one thing I've felt lately is guilt. For some reason I feel responsible for the whole thing since I was the one who filled out most of the paperwork, sent it in and am in charge of checking what is going on with it. Not receiving even my first NOA1 makes me feel like I'm failing, especially when my husband asks "did you get it yet?" :(

Aww, as long as you did everything you were suppose to for those forms, it isn't your fault that it's taking the service center a bit longer to issue you a NOA1. It will come in time :) Remember, service centers other than VSC is going to be a bit slower.

Don't blame yourself for things like this that you can't change/fix. :) We have enough in life to worry and agonize over, don't let the things you can't change hold you down as well =] You did all that you could!

Ditto!

I got so frustrated and worried during the whole visa process because it seemed taking forever. But the only time that I really shed tears was when we finally got approved. Tears of joy because everything went smoothly for us. As for being far away from my sweetheart, that's a different story. Of course we both cry every now then out of miseries and loneliness, which is a normal thing in long distance relationship...

I bet I will cry again once NVC forwarded our case here in Manila consulate and then will cry again once I got the visa. TEARS OF JOY, it really feels good shedding tears when you're so happy!

This visa process isn't worth crying over. I had all honors in high school, and honors in the College of Engineering at the University with a double major in two related disciplines, Electrical and Computer. If this stuff is worth crying, then I would probably die at the college.

Well it's kinda easy for someone who files at Vermont to say, that the process isn't worth crying.

But if you spend months apart and you think it's finally your turn to get approved and THEN you receive a RFE or something else that causes a delay....then it 's kinda HARD to not cry.....unless, you kinda don't give a damn!

But if you feel the same for your fiance as everyone else here should feel for their partners, then you can't go through this without concerns and rough times....not saying that you have to cry...but it's an emotional hardcore situation, when your future isn't in your hand anymore, but in the hands of the government!!!

Definitely a feeling that I don't like AT ALL!!!! <_<

Maybe it comes down to our individual personalities but I stopped crying about things out of my control years ago - now I just get angry. I also MUST have a plan B. Its not that some dont give a damn - its just that they push through the emotional barriers that can slow them down. Right now you feel like you have to gather all this information and put it together just perfectly so some stranger can pick apart your lives and decide whether you're worthy of being together. That doesnt frustrate me - it pisses me off! Well if thats how it's gonna be then you make it the best petition they've ever seen. Trust me - the minute you get that thing in the mail you will feel like the gears are finally turning. In my opinion, the waiting isnt half as bad as having a pile of paperwork staring you in the face and people on this forum are already getting NOA2s.

The frustration of not being able to do or influence anything about this process made me cry sometimes too. We had to wait nine (9) months for our NOA2!

I always felt better after

a) either ranting to sombody about this BS or

B) crying and feeling sorry for myself for a while! B)

Whatever gets you through this process!

Good luck to all.

What's worth crying is not being able to communicate with your SO. I value communication in all forms not just a matter of physical appearance. It makes you a strong person. Crying tend to make you be in a stand still. You need to be strong no matter what the circumstance!

I don't think anybody has the right to tell anyone else how they should react to this process. EVERYONE here knows how difficult/frustrating/annoying/etc. etc. etc. And it gets to all of us at some point. Some people cry, some people get angry. We all react in our own way. Maybe crying for one person makes them feel worse, but crying for another gets out their frustration and makes them feel a lot better.

You just have to do what is best for you to get you through this process. For me, focusing on the fact that soon (as relative as that word may be) I'll be in the arms of my love again, helps me get through the day, and often even with a smile on my face. But sometimes I still cry over missing him or the frustration of the process, and that is just fine, too.

I definitely felt a lot of frustration during the K-1 process. Mostly because I was pissed off to have to justify my relationship to someone who didn't know me. But later I realized a couple of things. First, it is a process that must be done. Second, we realized our relationship wasn't about the *process* and if we didn't get approved, we'd find a way to be together. Realizing and accepting those two facts really helped me to be calm. Another issue was that I felt in the beginning that I was doing everything, with having to organize the papers and make sure everything was correct. That part was frustrating. But my then fiance stepped up when the file was transferred to the Embassy and took care of everything from there.

Whatever you are feeling....it's normal!! But you will get through it.
