Hello,

My wife and I sent over the IV and the AOS packages separately and they confirmed that they received the AOS package that we sent in last on March 4th. He told us "physical mail in process" and it won't be up for review for 45 days. I had some questions about this which I'm gonna list below:

1. I read somewhere that when the package is scanned you get an email. What does that mean? They already confirmed they received it.

2. Do we get an interview date once the 45 days period is over if everything is in order?

3. If everything goes correctly, when do you reckon the interview date is going to be?

4. I reckon the interview might be in late April or early may. Do you think that is a fair assumption?

5. What do we expect next? Nvc is a tough process as I've learned from other people on the forum. Is this the last thing before the interview if they don't need more evidence?

Thank you all

P.s: a lot of people have told me to update my timelines and I've been too lazy to do it so I'm gonna make time to do it now.

Well it took around 34 days for us and we are still waiting for our interview date to be set. Currently it's been 14 days since case complete and still no interview date as of yet. I highly doubt you will get an interview for April unless your case is completed already. ;(

P.s: a lot of people have told me to update my timelines and I've been too lazy to do it so I'm gonna make time to do it now.

1. I read somewhere that when the package is scanned you get an email. What does that mean? Scanned is their receive date and scanning your paperwork in system. Check your email you should get a receive/ scan email

2. Do we get an interview date once the 45 days period is over if everything is in order? NO. Nepal is a bit of a wait after Case Complete. Look at my case Complete to Interview spreadsheet https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xbLl_8yDgHLeDaLnTrPdYc44J0sjPSFfYCKxlKx6uTY/edit#gid=0

3. If everything goes correctly, when do you reckon the interview date is going to be? Check answer above

4. I reckon the interview might be in late April or early may. Do you think that is a fair assumption? You just sent your documents in. They have been scheduling for April since last week. Better to look at the spreadsheet you will see. Looking more like June or July depending when you get case complete.

5. What do we expect next? Nvc is a tough process as I've learned from other people on the forum. Is this the last thing before the interview if they don't need more evidence? Well next don't know since you have no timeline (thus the importance). Have you paid IV fee and submitted the DS-260?

After all fees are paid, forms submitted and documents sent now you wait. t about day 30 to 35 keep checking your the ceac site to see the 3rd NA. That's when the AOS fee changes from PAID to NA that's Case Complete.

Yes this is the last thing if there are no issues you will get case complete 30 to 45 days from NVC receiving your package.

It should not be 45 days, That's their scripted saying. Could take 45 but rarely usually in that 30 to 40 days.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).
