Hey All!

I was wondering if someone could help me on this. We are about to send off my husband's I-751 packet. I'm worried because we don't have the following evidence:

Joint Lease/Mortgage

Joint Utility Bills

Joint Vehicle Ownership

The reason being is that my father in law own the house we reside in, the car my husband drives, AND he pays the utilities (he's very well off). Should I write a letter to immigration explaining why we don't have this? I'm able to provide proof that my father in law owns and pays for it all. OR....is the evidence I am sending enough?

Copy of our Driver's Licenses showing same address

Joint Tax returns for the past 3 years

Joint bank statements, varied dates from July 2013 to present

Beneficiary information/POD for my IRA's, my husband's IRA, and my personal checking account.

Letters from our health insurance company showing joint coverage (I am the policy holder. he is covered under me)

Declarations page from our auto insurance (My husband is the policy holder. I am a listed driver)

A Copy of an itinerary from a flight we took together in 2014

Copy of the our Sam's Club membership cards showing a joint household membership

Copy of our AAA Renewal notice (In my name. He's listed on my policy)

Photos over the years with family members of both sides.

Please Help! I'm very nervous about this. I'm hoping what I have is enough already but I don't want to risk a denial. any advice is appreciated!!

hi

no need to write a letter of explanation

but your father in law can write a letter explaining that you both live with him

In-law writes affidavit about communal residence and bills, get it notarized. They don't just deny you without rfe and/or interview. If you are legit, you don't have to worry and you will have a chance to express yourself at interview. Good luck.

Thank you all! This helps and makes me feel a bit better.

I will have my father in law write a letter, however at this point, it might be just in case of an RFE. I want these out ASAP (especially since my husband and I are going going on a trip for a week) so That's why I asked if I should do it. but if it's better if it comes from him, then I guess we will have to wait and see if they need it. My father in law lives in Chile, where my husband is from. When he retired from the UN, he bought our home for two reasons: 1. He loves us and wanted us to have a good start in life. He helped my brother-in-law with his first home, now he's doing the same for me and my husband. 2. our family is spread out all over the world. It's just easier for everyone to get together here in the USA once a year or every other year than for everyone to go Chile, then England, then Canada ect. Family is everything to us. and I did marry into a Latin family so I guess it's a cultural thing too :-)
