Really appreciate the detail medical review shsl73.cause i'm going next week. But what i'd like to know is his total cost?did it pass $30 000?

Because I could not hear all that well...I couldn't make out the exact total...I did make out that the exam was 15840 (something like that) and then maybe another 6000 for the 3 shots. I will talk to him again later and find the exact amount he paid. But know based on immunization requirements the total will differ from person to person

Good early morning all...this is my 3rd attempt in trying to provide an update after speaking to my husband...internet connection issues...apparently an outage in my area. So here goes:

Important Tips (in no particular order):

1. He said it's best to arrive early

2. Once inside, you will be briefed on what documents are needed and the order in which they should be in.

3. Although numbers are issued for each person, make sure you listen for you name to be called throughout the process.

4. If you don't have the FREE downloadable medical form, they have them on hand for purchase for approx. 37JMD

5. Cellphones are allowed but limited use

6. You will need the address of where you will reside abroad and a local number and point of contact

7. Ensure that your name is written on back of 4 passport photos

8. Mothers will need to provide the name and date of birth of all children. This will be one of the items you will be briefed on before they start calling names and numbers to be seen.

9. The longest wait in between services he experienced was about 30 mins.

10. You will always be instructed or escorted on where to go next.

11. You will visit the cashier twice. First time will be to pay for the exam and the second for vaccination payment.

12. You will be provided receipts for all payments rendered. The receipt for the medical will have when the results will be ready for pickup and anyone can pick up the results on your behalf as long as they have that.

13. He said it's good to be organized, He saw many people with "Fedex" type envelopes rambling through a lot of papers...he said make its easy even though you have time to get things together.

Exam:

He stated that they check eyes, height, weight, blood pressure...routine vitals. X-Ray was taken prior to seeing the physician--this where he experienced the longest wait. Once in with the physician you will go through a exam like any other exam; remove clothing to your undergarments and checked. The doctor will also go through a battery of questions to collect your medical history, basically confirming what's on the medical form.

The doctor will tell you what vaccinations you will needed and you will be sent to the cashier to render payment. After payment, you will be given the shots and blood taken. The nurse or receptionist will ensure that you have visited every "department" to have the required services rendered and then you are done.

Fees:

1. Medical -15875 JMD (based on the picture of the receipt he sent me).

2. Vaccinations - 8400 JMD (this will vary based on the vaccination each person needs. He needed 3).

He said that even though there were lots of people, the staff is very efficient with moving people through the process. Don't look for any small talk, he said. Hope this gives a little insight.

Can't wait to see the APRROVAL confirmations flow through for each and everyone. Blessings and good vibes!

*I will not say "good luck", as luck has to do with a game of chances. I pray for the very best for every single one of you as you move forward in this process and Godspeed.

Absolutely. Basically, he said he noticed a lot of people with "Fedex" type envelopes where it seemed that someone had sent them with a bunch of papers in it that they had to go through (his words now).

But really, if you have what's on the medical form listed to bring you will be fine. Off of memory though, I think that it stated 4 passport pictures, vaccination records, medical form, appointment letter and your passport. Again, off of memory..of you are currently taking any medications you will need those.

Honestly, he was just tooting His wife's horn because of how I organized, divided and labeled the folder I sent for him. I am a detail freak...and included 2 black ball point pens.

*the 3 shots he had to get were DTaP, MMR and Influenza. Theu did not annotate this in the JA immunization record but have him a U.S. Immunization record that lists these out. He said that he was told that the JA record is not valid in the U.S..

You're welcome Picobenz. I will add that he said that from what he could hear the medical history differs for men and women...he wasn't asked if he was pregnant but that was asked if the women (he's crazy). Somewhere, I thought that I also read that there was urine collection too but he didn't have to do that. I don't know if ladies have to provide both urine and blood specimens or just blood.

Lol....you're most welcome.

Oh, he did say that they drove by the Embassy between 6:15 and 6:45, there were 2 huge lines. So, make sure you all give yourself enough time and be prepared to stand in a line.

You're welcome. He sounded pretty excited but after the 416th time of me making him go over it....the excitement fizzled. Seriously, I think he was glad that he was done early because he thought he would be there until they closed. Hahahaha
