Our District Office is also three hours away. We went up the night before, paid for a room, and missed that day's work.

I'd still rather have my interview over and done with now than wonder if I was going to have another when conditions are lifted.

And I'd definately rather have had our interview and been told in person that we were stuck in name check, than to have our case transferred and be stuck with no word on what the situation is.

I'm pretty sure everyone has to get an interview when you go to lift conditions.

Maybe Elgringo meant that those who weren't interviewed for the conditional green card will be interviewed for the removal of conditions? That's just my guess, I don't really want to try to interpret what another poster said.

As a matter of fact, I started posting on VJ pretty late in my immigration process, and before I found this board, I had lived under the impression that everyone had to be interviewed if AOS was marriage-based.

Filed AOS from F-1
Green Card approved on 01/04/07
Conditions removed 01/29/09

Citizenship Oath 08/23/12

"im pretty sure" indicates some sort of certainty. As far as family based and interviews, that is what has always happened. This CSC transfer-no interview is a new occurrance to reduce backlogs.

Well, if they call us for an interview when we remove conditions, I would be happy to go :)

I asked these questions in someone else's post but maybe it should go here too. It would be interesting to hear from people who were in this similar situation and see why they were transferred back to do an interview. Was it random? Was there something about their case that warranted an interview? Why were they transferred to CSC in the first place? I know every case is different, but I'd like to get a general idea.

Elena -

Maybe someone else will be answer how their case went in a situation like yours. I cannot cause it didn't happen to us.

But I can tell you that the reason you were transferred in the first place is more or less lucky circumstance. USCIS is pulling files AT RANDOM from overloaded service centers. So the luck of the CSC transfer is based upon where you live and if your local office is busy.
