Jul 5 - Receipt date for I-130 petition for my over 21 brother and his wife (both in the UK)

2024

Feb 23 - Sent USCIS a message asking for a processing update

May 6 - Received an email response saying things were progressing normally but that waiting times might be longer

2014

Feb 25, 26 & 28 - got emails saying that the cases had been transferred to another office, then to my local office, and then just transferred and are being processed

Mar 17 - got email, attached to one case number only, saying that my A number was changed relating to the I-130 filing

Thanks, Monique! I know everyone says it's the easy part. I sure hope I walk out of there saying the same thing.

Actually, since he's driving across the border, he usually only brings his driver's license and birth certificate. I will *definitely* need to remind him to bring his passport!

Heck yes! And I know it's silly. I have everything on my list and yet I'm still freaking out. I'm a logical person, and everyone says this is the easy part, but I guess I'm just afraid I'll get someone on a bad day and they'll find something trivial that I didn't do correctly (like I accidentally checked the wrong box on one of the forms). You know how it is crossing the border; one day you'll get a guy/gal itching to snap on a pair of rubber gloves, the next day they'll ask you 2 questions and tell you to have a nice day. I almost wish there wasn't a human element to this process. That if you hand in your forms to be scanned and everything's in order, you're good to go.

I don't know how I'm going to sleep the night before. At least I'm driving -- you have a flight to worry about on top of everything else!

Everyone is trying to calm me down and I know this anxiety I'm feeling isn't rational, but how can I be calm when I know that the CO there has the final word on whether we can live together or not. *sigh*

And you're right, it's similar to crossing the border. Every time I went for a visit my stomach would churn and I wouldn't feel relieved until after I was through.

I'll be thinking about you on Monday at your interview too!
