So, next Monday is the big day. (Gulp!) Of course, I am in full panic mode. It took SO long from when I mailed my checklist to when I received my interview date that I am not at all confident about my homemade "K-3 Montreal Interview Checklist". Montreal folks -- please have a look at this list and let me know what I am missing! (I searched this forum but I only found similar topics for K-3 interviews in Vancouver, and K-1 interviews in MTL -- none for K-3s in MTL.)

Re: the DS-156 -- Can I sign this? Clearly I am not supposed to sign the DS-230 Part II or the DS-156K until I am in front of a CO, but what about the D-156? Anyone?

Since hubby is self-employed (and makes far more than required), we have 3 years of IRS transcripts to submit as additional evidence (nothing else; and there are no assets listed on the I-134). Please tell me this is enough!?! (I figured a bank statement would be redundant...)

I don't know about K3 in Montreal but that looks pretty complete to me. Though I was told that you don't need to bring the xray. As for the DS-156, I'm not signing or dating until I'm there.

Thanks, misa! The dr's told me to bring the x-ray to the interview so I may as well. Better to have it and not need it than visa versa.

Yes, I noticed our identical interview dates a little while ago. I was actually going to say "See you on Monday!" until I realized that you are interviewing in Vancouver. Best of luck to you! (I look forward to reading your "Visa Approved!" post!)

Yeah, the doctor here told me to bring it too (did you go to Dr. Seiden's?) but after reading this all including my checklist (says only to bring the medical results) I don't think I'll bring it.

Though having said that I'll probably throw it into my suitcase anyway!

One thing I checked when booking my hotel was a fridge, for my beer!!!! Best of luck at ur interview. Keep in mind no electronics of any kind and no big bags, and goto the back of the elevator, as it is the door that opens!!! If ur really cocky, stand facing the back of the door, while the others face the opposite direction,lol

Thanks, flames! I'm staying at the cheap apartment-style hotel across from the consulate and I think all rooms have a kitchenette so we should have a fridge for the beer! (A definite must!)

Heh, heh -- I *just* might be feeling saucy enough to face the back door in the elevator; we'll see! Here's my understanding of how it works:

- arrive at the consulate approx. 7:15am

- show my interview letter to the dude at the door

- go through the security check/metal detector; head downstairs

- sit in chairs facing the elevator; wait for guard dude to remove the ropes in front of the elevator

- as soon as we're able to load on, be the first in the elevator and head to the back (ensuring I'm the first off)

- when the rear doors open at floor #19, break left and head straight for window #14

Gosh, I feel like I'm SO prepared (thanks of course to VJ and all its participants) and yet I'm still SO nervous... I guess you can never anticipate the questions they're going to ask you, but hubby and I are legitimately married (and ridiculously in love) and I'll have everything I need with me; I just can't forsee any problems, and yet my stomach is still flipping about. Yeesh!

This site and forums are awesome for moral support and seeing all the stories of how everyone ends up being able to be together is a true inspiration I haven't even mailed our I-130 yet and Im excited to think that I`ll be with my soon to be hubby in 6-12 months (though Im being realistic and leaning more on being prepared to wait close to 12 months)

I was cr-1 so the very 1st window at the desired floor may be different!! Once at the desired floor (19) my 1st window wasn't open yet, so I stayed fairly close to it. others that were up with me, walked away and sat down!! So when the window did open, those that arrived later, actually got to the window first, because they hovered close by!! lol That first window (at least for cr-1) is where one gets the ticket with ur # o nit, thibnk I was C3!!

You can bring a book to read, BUT like a monkey, every time the BEEP goes off, calling someones ticket(the screen is in the middle of the floor, states the # and what window to goto) you will automatically look up and see if it is ur # being called!! Best of luck

Do you need to bring his actual Passport? Or a photcopy of the pages?

Yes, husband is the USC. It is my understanding that he will require his passport (for identification) in order to be allowed entrance into the US consulate. (He's coming with me for moral support; I don't expect that he will be interviewed with me.)
