Hi Everyone,

My fiancee filed the K1 visa petition for me and it has been approved. I resigned from my current company and am currently serving the notice period. However, my company has agreed to depute me to the US if I withdraw my resignation.

Here is where it gets tricky for me. I know that I a not allowed to work in the US until I get an EAD or until my application for Adjustment of Status is approved. Now, can I be on leave of absence from my company during the period that I don't have my work permit? I will not be working or be getting paid during this time.

Looking forward to any information in this regard.

Thanks!

Sree

I have seen others how are allowed to work for their company from the home country even though they are in US. I don't know the rules but try a search in here, last one I saw was someone from UK. Other wise there will be users who knows more how will answer :)
