I am student and a US citizen who have been in a same-sex relationship for 12 years. I would like to bring my girlfriend to the US. I moved to the Philippines almost 4 years ago to study and I am now living with my girlfriend. I am graduating soon that’s why I am thinking of ways to bring my girlfriend home with me to Hawaii. I have been reading but I want to make sure of my steps before I make one. Being that I am a student

1. Am I able to petition my girlfriend? Even though I’m a student?

2. Would my mom's income of $30,000 be enough to provide for affidavit of support on my behalf being we live in Hawaii?

3. If not, can my brother that makes more money give the affidavit of support even though he lives in Illinois?

4. Again if not, can aunts, uncles or cousins provide affidavit of support

5. I wanted to start the process soon, can I apply from here? (Philippines) Online? Or I’d have to send documents to my mom to send to USCIS?

6. I called the embassy here and they said they never heard of applying K-1 visa and the petitioner is living in the Philippines? That it only gets filed in the US. only accept payments for relative type of visa. Is that for real?

Please help!

Thank you so much!
