Hi all,

June will mark the one year timeframe from my interview, for which the officer conducting my interview told me all my documents need to be in order. The USCIS received my I601 waiver application in September. The embassy told me they would give me a list of documents to be updated WHEN I receive the approval letter. However, what happens in June once the deadline passes if I have not received a decision letter by then? Can I apply for an extension? I would hate to have to start all this over.

It is my understanding that the embassy extends your case while the waiver decision is still pending. I emailed our embassy to inform them of the date the waiver was received by USCIS and asked them to extend our case. It has been over one year. Maybe you could contact your embassy to ensure they know your waiver decision is still pending.

Thanks Lioness! That is a huge relief! I will email the embassy and inform them and hopefully they will extend it. We have been so stresses about it and this is really good information! quote name="LionessDeon" post="8045572" timestamp="1457532014"]
