Hi guys, my wife(USC) had a divorce in FL before we married. We have been reading forums on VJ about people getting RFE's for not providing divorce decree. However when I checked her divorce decree, it had no raised seal. It has a date(stamped form) and the signature of the circuit judge at the end of the decree. Her divorce with the previous spouse was an easy one with no contest of property or kids so they filed it through a CPA/Notary and she says that that is why she does not have the raised seal on it. Will this be good with USCIS or will we get an RFE? Is there a way to get the raised seal copies? Even on the online records it shows the exact same document that we have. Please help!

Is there a way to get it over the phone? We are in another state now.

Contact the court yourself and ask. That is the best way to get the information that you are seeking. Then, if possible, you can complete the transaction immediately.

My husband and I both had divorce decrees that were sent in to USCIS (twice, for 2 different applications) and they were just copies, not even certified copies. We were never asked for any other copies and we got approvals with no problems.

Guesa it just depends on who is reviewing your application.

I was divorced in Florida too most counties here dont do raised seal but you can get a certified copy. Call the clerks office and ask if they can send you one, fee depending on number of pages would be less than $10, if they cant do it over the phone ask if you can have someone else pick up a certified copy for you and there are services in most counties that will go pick up and mail them to you.
