Please I need your advice on the issue of confirmation the information I hold @ the port of entry through phone with my friend. I told my friend that CBP may give him call to confirm the information I hold,just to know if it's true or not. My question is my friend said he won't answer any call on that day due to he didn't know the caller Id . Please would they not say that I am lie or Not? Or any idea.?

You are entering on a visitor visa and you are concerned that the CBP employee may call your friend (with whom you are staying) to verify your story and your friend is saying they do not answer unknown numbers? Is that right? I would suggest yo your friend that in the day you arrive and at around the time you arrive he should definitely answer the phone. What if it is you calling from the airport because you can't find your friend in the crowd?

Provide your friend with a copy of your itinerary, so that he knows when your plane is expected to land, and let him know that he could expect to receive a call from a number he does not recognize within 4 hours of that time, as you are going through Customs. Once you have cleared customs you can message your friend to let him know that you are done.

Let me get this straight. Your friend is such a good friend that you are going to the expense and trouble of getting a visa and flying all the way to the USA to see him but he won't answer the phone to (potentially) an immigration officer who is making the decision whether to let you into the country or not?

What's really in it for you? Who is your friend hiding from?

This is very strange indeed. Your friend is not being a very good friend. I suggest you get new friend or information! Why are you staying with a friend who won't answer his phone when he knows you may call. Suppose you are unable to find your way or what if some kind of emergency were to happen! This is ridiculous.

Please if happen that I can find someone else. Can I make use phone number of that New friend? So that I will search for the Hotel to stay for a while if that should be the case. And what are the name and address that I used inside my Visa?

or should I tell them that my friend said he can not answer call unknown person?

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Still waiting for another advice please!

I think it is fine to use another friend of contact in the US even if during your interview you have filled in different name & address of your friend. Once the visit visa was granted to you, I understand that the Consul who interviewed you that you have a STRONG TIES in your country that you will be coming back home and NOT because of the person who invited you to the US. Therefore, you can still choose another friend in the US to visit, and use their address & phone number.

I travelled to the US last year and visited another friends instead of visiting my friend who officially invited me during my tourist visa application because she was not available the time that I wanted to take my vacation in the US. If the Immigration Officer interview you and ask you about your travel, just look at them in their eyes and be confident in all your answers.

CBP does not generally call to confirm information from a port of entry. If they do that, there is already something unusual going on. If you tell them ahead of time your friend won't answer the phone if they call, that's not going to alleviate any concerns they have. It seems kind of suspect.
