I will need to file the ROC of my husband's GC in one month. I'm getting together all our evidence and I thought I was clear to go. Now reading here I've seen people sending in 5-9 POUNDS of evidence. WHAT? I thought I had enough but I certainly don't have 9 pounds worth.

Evidence collected:

Joint bank account (various months printed, not every month)

Lease agreement w/ both names

Rental insurance w/ both names

Car insurance w/ both names

Car insurance billing w/ both names (various months not every month)

Electricity bill w/ both names (various months, not every month)

Credit card statement w/ both names (currently only have one month because we forgot to save them!)

Him listed as the beneficiary to my Roth IRA account & investment account

Me listed as the beneficiary to his 401K, Roth IRA account, HSA account

Me listed under his dental insurance plan

Three years tax returns (filed jointly)

Copies of driver's license with same address

Pictures

I really felt like this was enough. Is there anything else I could/should add?

(Also, I am a little worried about the length of time it's now taking to get the 10-year GC. I know you can travel with the extension letter, but my husband travels abroad 2-3 times a month for his job. The frequency of travel shouldn't matter, right?)

As always, thanks!!

If you have wills/medical power of attorney those types of things should be included

It's not about weight. It's more like quality vs quantity yet quantity is still required here. What you have looks good. Try to add the following if possible,

Power of attorney/Wills (Medical and Financial)

Joint phone bills

Stores membership cards

The immigration process caused me PTSD.

- If you travelled together, you can include tickets showing that. That's the only thing I can think of right now to add to the evidence.

- The weight of the documents is not a factor. What matters is that you have evidence covering the entire duration of the marriage. You have a lot of good evidence, but you need to make sure it covers as much time as possible.

- If you don't have every single month in certain items, you should at least have several or most of the months from every year you were married (go online and print them, or request copies from the bank). Your insurance companies can give you a letter stating when the insurance started and that it is still in effect, who are named on the insurance, etc. Same with the dental plan, you should show that you had it for every year of the marraige (if that is the case).

- When he travels, he should take the extension letter and the expired green card. As far as the point of entry is concerned, the frequency of travel won't matter as long as he has ties to the country (marriage, job, car, for example). For USCIS, if they ask why he travels so much without you, he will need to show that the travel is job-related. If it was me, I would get a letter from his employer to show to USCIS if they ask.

Alright thanks for the responses!

I'll get a living will written up. I can also have each other be power of attorney. I do have one plane ticket when we traveled together, but I can look up more.

Phone bills are not joint because his work pays for his phone bill and I have my own.

I tried to print out statements for credit card online and couldn't find a way to pull them up. I'll call and see what I need to do.

We have a joint AAA account, would this be worth adding?

As far as "as much time as possible" we really only have stuff since entering the USA. It took us 1.5 years to get CR1 approved, during that time we were living abroad in Costa Rica. We didn't have any shared accounts because I was not a resident and couldn't get anything basically. Neither of us had insurance because they have social healthcare in the country. He obviously was not on my USA accounts because he didn't have a SSN at the time. I could include evidences from the CR1 packet- lease agreements in Costa Rica, plane tickets, etc.
