Sending out I-130 help

I couldn't believe when I took our info to the post office and it weighed over 9 pounds. It was about 4-5 inches thick. Why? Because he's from Pakistan, we had 5 years of evidence from 6 trips, he has traveled a lot in his job to difference countries, and we are older and don't want to wait 10 years til we are using canes for him to be here.

I put the entire thing in one of those accordian-style brown portfoilio things with a cover that folds over and secured with one of those stretchy bands. Inside, I put a folder for: each trip, chats, emails, letters of support, etc..I didn't clip those papers together. All they had to do was pull out the papers and look.

I also had one of those folders that had a top 2-clasp folder over clips. I put all the really important stuff in that folder punched with 2 holes at the top: I-130 apps, birth certificates, divorce papers, marriage certificates, biographies, etc., his stuff on the left, mine on the right. I used dividers top hole punched and labeled each piece. I was danged if they were gonna say we didn't have a real relationship.

Anyway, I know this was overkill, but better more than not enough Now, watch, we will have forgotten to sign something...our luck...lol

Best of luck, other folks. Ours went to Nebraska, got NOA1 in Jan, but they are now working on October, 2015.

Yes China is high fraud. Send more quality evidence vs less. I would not use those fasteners. Hole punch yes, but use binder clips to sort your stuff. They are more work for the person on the other end to remove. There are ACCO fasteners on the folders for your file. They would have to remove yours, sort the documents to their liking and then put them in the folder. A binder clip is easier to remove.

Yes I meant one ACCO fastener for the whole packet to keep it together, was going to use little color tabs on bottom of each section. So ACCO fastener on going through all pages with little peal off color tabs between sections.

Don't bother with the tabs, they'll be torn off and discarded almost immediately.

I'm a little worried I have assembled my packet and its 1 1/2 thick. Is that to much? I have already cut down the email, chat logs in half. Also I have the 2 hole punch at work and was going to use that and the ACCO fasteners. Has anybody done the same ? Is it okay to punch holes in all the papers? Can I get some feedback want to send out tomorrow AM.

Hi

I have not long finish that part of the process. My advise; don't over think it. I only send in two pictures and about 1-2 pages of each site we chat on. To what I see less is more.

Think about this way these people have been looking at paper all day, when they see that stack hey are just gonna push it to the side. It's like kids with a short attention span. No insult intended

Uh, hey now! Your only goal is to provide answers to the USCIS's RFE, the rest is just, how do I say, fluff... I have done a few RFE's. Please just follow the instructions

Blue ink is fine, they are looking for a wet signature. We also front loaded but kept to quality information. We also sent the kitchen sink :) and sent every civil document we could get our hands on. Looking back, if I could give you some helpful information it would be make a copy of the package because you will have to send the same information when you get to the NVC stage, minus the G-325.

At the NVC stage you will send the same information with the affidavit of support ( I-864 ) After you send in your USCIS CR-1 package start gathering documents for the I-864. NVC will send you a check list with your welcome letter. Hope this helps....

The petition I sent was nearly that thick, so don't worry about that.

Do not use staples, just binder clips.

Thanks! I totally meant paper clips/binder clips!

I Just sent in I-130 packet to Chicago lockbox. I used the 2 hole punch and the ACCO fastener, I also used a few paper clip to keep some things sectioned . I used color tabs to indicate the sections according to my cover letter. It will be real easy for them to take a part ect. but still hoping to cut down on any papers getting misplaced. Thanks for suggestion.
