I just got a summery thingy from the insurance company for an ER visit he had.

It showing a charge for an EKG??? Yes good way to freak out your mother boy!!

My oldest went to the ER one time because she fainted. She didn't want to go, but some idiot bf wanted her to go. She even argued with him and then the hospital telling them she was fine. The ER admitting finally talked her into going when they said it wouldn't cost anything. But here's the catch, they are required to contact a parent before they can treat a minor, they did not make one attempt to contact us. In fact they disallowed my daughter from contacting us and they were trying to talk her into being admitted to the ER. Of course there was nothing wrong with her, but still they tried to drop a couple grand bill on us. I refused to pay it and wrote them a letter about the legality of what they had done, and how I'm tempted to bring a suit against them for treating without parental consent in a non emergency situation. They immediately stopped attempting to collect on the bill. Although they were still trying to get our insurance information so they could at least collect on that part of it. My answer was why should my insurance company pay anything and affect my rates when they were in the wrong. I gave that teenage bf of her's a talking to also.

That is nuts. I'm sure we may see more then what has came in already. We won't get any bills for it as he has already met his deductible for this year. He psoriasis medicine is almost 4k a month. His deductible is 6k he met that and more after two months of meds.
