TB, hope your in-laws and other family are well in Ecuador after the earthquake. Hubby's province was the most effected and the cities are in literal ruins. :( Hoping the government has a suitable response and gets emergency help out there ASAP.

I think I have strep throat. I feel so sick. :crying:

USC who lived in Manabí, Ecuador with hubby from 2009 - 2013. Hubby became a naturalized American citizen in August 2016. Currently living together in northern Virginia.

It's your husband's family ok?

So has the gov taken any action? I hope your family is safe and well...

Family is fine physically but the city is a mess. It's really sad and strange to see places you frequent and love in ruins on the news. :( Hubby's city still has no electricity and because of the damaged roadways help has not been able to get into the city limits yet. The death toll is over 230 at this point, so it could be much worse but is still sad and discouraging. We were very seriously considering travelling to be with family but decided against it because hubs just started a new job and he doesn't want to have to take off time so soon after starting. If family were hurt it would be different but for now all we can really do is sit and feel helpless. Hoping things get better in the coming days, though.

I hope they fare well.

They're probably not going to have electric for a few days, may be longer.

They're probably cutting more electric lines as we speak.

The city has to put out the imminent danger. (Fires, gas leaks, loose electricity, etc)

Locate and treat the wounded. Get supplies to the population.

You substandard-bred uncultured below par Tark-magnon...everyone knows that Chinese people eat with chopsticks....

An irritating buzzing noise has infested this thread, must swat the gnats man...

1. TB, hope your in-laws and other family are well in Ecuador after the earthquake. Hubby's province was the most effected and the cities are in literal ruins. :( Hoping the government has a suitable response and gets emergency help out there ASAP.

2. I think I have strep throat. I feel so sick. :crying:

1. Gracias, Part Many ma'am. Mrs. T-B.'s family all felt the quake, rattle & roll man. None of our circle (meaning the contemporaries who got hosed at the consulado) were hurt, but neighbors of a local amiga's family were, sigh man.

Correa will probably blame the U.S. or refuse aid from same, Chavez Jr. man.

2. No permission to get sick, no ma'am! Reported!!!

So has the gov taken any action? I hope your family is safe and well...

The Ecu army has apparently been mobilized, probably more to prevent looting than to help with rescues, sigh man...

Nope I was shopping :P

[cue song, de la Cucaracha man] Ciuda-da-NA America-NA..

Shopping impermissible, bad D ma'am! Reported!!!
